In the heart of Pioneer Square, Smith Tower has stood for 100 years as the Southern bookend to Seattle's skyscrapers. Once the tallest building on the West Coast, Smith Tower offers the original view of our grand city from the 35th floor Chinese Room & Observation Deck, open to tourists daily and available for private events. Smith Tower has also remained an office building since opening in 1914 and is home to companies of all sizes across a number of industries.

We rented this for a private event in the spring of 2013. It is a beautiful venue with a fantastic view of the city. It's got that "old Seattle" feel. The furniture is gorgeous and the ceiling stands out especially. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

HIGHLY OVERRATED! Sure, the view is good, but it's not great. The space is completely wasted - it's an empty room with a couple of old chairs and benches. It would be much better if you could get a coffee, soda, or drink and a snack, and sit at the top and enjoy yourself. Alas, there is none of this and it's pretty boring. I wouldn't spend the money. Check out the main lobby and the elevators, and you're good to go!

The observation deck is a funky change from it's taller Seattle siblings, and you can see almost as much on a clear day.

Let me just say first, my office is currently located in Smith Tower. The building has plenty of charm. And when I say charm, it's not a cover-up for it being old and decrepit. The building has maintained a lot of the historic elements. At the top of Smith Tower is the observation deck, which is a great place if you want to check out great views of all of Downtown Seattle.
