Heimdall, He Who Watches the Event Log
I have a tiny server, sitting in the cloud, running cygwin’s OpenSSH. Logging in requires an SSH key, but this doesn't stop people from trying all sorts of ways to get in. Normally, this does nothing whatsoever, other than fill up my event logs with “invali...

I just found out that I am not currently registered to vote. This is odd because I was previously registered to vote, since I voted in the primaries earlier this year. I haven't moved or anything.

Further, I went to go re-register myself, and the online service says it can't validate my driver's license, and I should mail my registration instead.

I'm curious if anybody else is having voter registration issues that they may not even know about. You can check here: https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do

I found a hawk in the middle of the road today, on my way to work this morning. I shooed it out of the way and it hopped off. On my way home, a couple of hours later, it was still exactly where I left it.

We called around and found a wildlife rescue center willing to take it in. I scooped it up with a towel, put it in a box, and off I went. How exciting to be driving around Atlanta with a hawk in a box!

The EFF fights for your free speech, for your privacy, and for you to have a free and open Internet. We need them more and more as time goes on.  Today is a good day to donate.

I finished my first 5k yesterday, coming in at 59:02.  I ran out of umph before mile #2, and I ended up alternating walking and jogging for the rest of the race.  Even so, I think this was farthest I have ever run!  There was a bit of mud to slog through, and a few obstacles to get past as well, just to add to the excitement.  Big thanks to +Tri Hoang for sticking with me, even though he could have left me in the dust!

I'm not much of a runner, but this turned out to be a lot of fun regardless. Perhaps I'll train harder for the next time, and be able to run the entire way!
