I've seen several features on it on the BBC. CNN/Fox, etc talk about it a little less.

I'd combine two of the pieces of advice: "like" GOOD arguments for points of view other than your own. This has the double advantage of engaging your critical thinking and lifting up good arguments in general.

Visiting Austin and want a ride? Wrong. They outlawed uber and lyft, but created some proprietary alternative... all you have to do is download ANOTHER new app, to your phone, share all your information with THEM, then use a service which isn't as good as either uber or lyft. Austin must feel pretty special to ask all its visitors to do all that. A new app and another set of secuirty questions all of which is ONLY useful when I'm in Austin? No. One airport Hilton being much the same as another, it'll be easier just to avoid the city as a meeting place in the future

Well THAT happened. Not all that long ago, I made a prediction about republicans and the presidency. Specifically, that they'd elected their last president. Clearly I was wrong. I am completely gobsmacked. More research is in order. :)

The Olympics always draw out the superlatives, and commentators never seem to run out of enthusiasm, but this is an absolutely awe-inspiring margin of victory.  "One for the record books" just doesn't come anywhere near describing this accomplishment, not even at an Olympic event.
