Krita 2.9 mini tip : if you go to Filter > G'Mic then press 'update definition' you'll have the two new filters under 'degradation' : rain/snow and chromatic aberation. Good filters !
Thanks +Lukáš Tvrdý and +David Tschumperlé  :)

Open source Architectural workflow very promissing. From client, to sketches, to draftsight for 2d programming, to blender for 3d renderings and conceptualization, to then freecad for construction documents extraction, and later Inkscape for presentation. Work still in progress but getting there.

Yet another PhotoFlow version is out! The new 0.1.5 release brings two brand new tools:

- the "Volume" tool, which allows to apply some local contrast enhancement and modulate the strength of the effect separately in the shadows, mid-tones and highlights. This is a realization of the idea discussed by +Patrick David on his blog: http://blog.patdavid.net/2014/08/clarity-in-gimp-local-contrast-mid-tones.html

- the Brightness/Contrast/Saturation/Hue Adjustment tool, which includes three curves that allow to modulate the effects according to the hue, the saturation and/or the lightness of the input pixels. By default the curves are disabled and all adjustments are applied globally. This tool allows to do things like "boost the saturation and the contrast of dull green colors in the mid-tones". The screenshot gives an example of an hue adjustment that selectively turns the red colors into green, using the  curve shown in the image.

An update OSX package is already available on the PhotoFlow web page: http://aferrero2707.github.io/PhotoFlow/#downloading-and-compiling
The Ubuntu and Windows packages should follow in a short time.

The image used in the screenshot is by +andrew mcmillan: https://plus.google.com/+andrewmcmillan/posts/2qN4AwheFgt

From the creator of the +PhotoFlow Editor, +Carmelo DrRaw brings us a great tutorial on using a combination of +Hugin and PhotoFlow to not only stitch together a panorama image, but to also expand the dynamic range in the scene through masks and multiple exposures (there's even a little Enfuse thrown into the mix!).

Come check it out!

The official Synfig training package is now updated for Synfig 1.0 and available at Udemy.com!

We have completely reworked and re-recorded the whole course to match all changes in Synfig Studio 1.0.

The new version simplified most operations, so  the explanations of the basics take less time. We used this chance to extend the course and cover more topics.

This includes: Switch Group, Sound Layer,  Onionskin Mode, animation using bones, walkcycle animation.

Much thanks to +Анна Орлова for script translation and +Terry Hancock from +Lunatics! (Animated Series) for narration!

Pay-what-you-want version is coming soon.

What's new in the world of free design and photography applications
Introduction
Libre Graphics World is a kind of an online magazine. No, really.

We write about all things related to free/libre software for design, photography, 3D modeling, and rendering. We also favor personal fabrication and open hardware.

As if it wasn't quite enough, we also cover free apps for video and music production.
