Day Hike – Veda Lake – Natural Springs

This time we set our sights on hiking over the ridge and into the crater to explore around Veda Lake and see if we can access the water source. This is an unusual lake, it’s very round and completely surrounded by ridges, so where does the water go? And how does water get into the crater in the first place?

Wilderness Adventure Experience

Huge thanks to my neighbor for starting us off with a cash gift. We can do this! Here are some pics from a recent trip into the Veda Lake crater in December, which is an unusual time to be able to access this area.

Christmas Goodies!

Hi once again my dear readers. I do apologize for the couple months of absence. I recently moved to a new apartment closer to work and it has been quite a task settling in and as always, I’m always busy with something. Nevertheless, tis’ the season! And you know what that means……Great Food!!! So for this article I thought it be nice to share some recipes with dishes that are usually common, both at this time of year and on my side of the world.

Portland Metro – Bike & Trail – Cycle Ride

Another Portland Metro area bicycle ride. This time exploring some trails around the Northwest corner of Downtown Portland and Union Station where the Amtrak comes through. Not much to report, rode some partially scary trails North along the waterfront, scary because there’s nothing to stop you from falling off the trail onto a steep embankment of jagged rocks and into the Willamette River. I didn't get any pictures of the trailage, but here are a few of Union Station and the view from the pedestrian bridge over the tracks. As usual “click the pics” to open them to full size.
