This is my latest post on ReadWriteStart (http://www.readwriteweb.com/start/2011/08/support-an-entrepreneur-buy-lo.php
) where I talk about how in my experience one often overlooked element of supporting an entrepreneurial community is getting corporations to "buy local."
I walk into the grocery store and there are signs imploring me to buy local produce -- I want to walk into the procurement department of the local Fortune 500 and see signs imploring them to buy local technology.
What do you think is this as important as I suspect?
I try to do this locally in Pittsburgh through a group - Innovation Happens (http://www.pittsburghinnovation.us/
) Have you seen other groups do it differently?
