Really quaint little hotel. Cool Rooms. Affordable compared to other hotels. However I wish I could control my own temperature for my room. Also walls are quite thin and you end up hearing your neighbors quite a bit if they are talking. Staff are really nice and restaurant is great!

Nope. Classic example of form at the expense of function. They must have spent all of their budget on design--and not the elegant kind that makes life both more beautiful and seamless. If the only thing you needed a hotel for was to take photos of it, this place would be great. But as it turns out, you have to sleep, bathe, and occupy the rooms. At these prices (we paid $300 on hotel tonight) it's just really, really not worth it. Sleeping: the beds were comfortable enough, but the only room they had was one with 2 twin beds. Why even have this? why? Also, they had the entire hotel booked (we like I said we got a $300 "deal" to finish out the bookings) on a Saturday night and at 2:30 in the morning a work crew showed up outside to tear up Melrose and replace. I seriously thought it was a earthquake. The hotel gave no warning at all. There is no way they didn't know that was coming. Melrose was closed all morning. All of LA must have known. No discounts, no complementary nothing. Just good old tough luck. Bathing: they give you 2 towels and 1 wash cloth. Want more? Call or email the front desk on your own device. Annoying. The bathroom was also really dark--like the rest if the room. Putting on makeup? Checking if your colors match? Trying to read something that isn't backlit? Good luck. Occupying: paper thin walls. I could hear a guy next door coughing. No actual closets. Ridic overpriced minibar. No iron in the room. No hair dryer that I could find. They have bikes but you have to pay $40/bike/day. You're already paying to stay there. No phones in the room, which just seemed really cheap even though they tried to pass it off as hip. Seriously, unless you get some crazy deal for like $100 or less a night DO NOT STAY here. It's pretty much all facade.

I was initially hesitant about staying here after reading some negative reviews, but my husband and I both loved this place (plus we snagged a deal on hoteltonight). It's very trendy, and the decor was pleasant and quirky. We didn't experience any trouble with service, and the lack of phones was no problem (unless you're a needy customer that likes to hang out in your hotel room all day...). The only thing we did not like was that there was no accessible air conditioning control in our room or at least a ceiling fan. It wasn't too bad considering the weather was awesome, but maybe Palihotel can improve on this matter in the near future. Other than that, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend this place. Don't listen to the super critical reviewers that find any little detail to complain about. Stay here! :)

They drain system doesn't work actually work; when I turned out the shower water just started filling up in the tub. When I walk downstairs (because they don't have a in-room phone for you to call them) to the frontdesk and told them about the situation, it took them two days until they fixed it.

Right in the middle of shopping and Hollywood culture. Love the design, decor, and the restaurant inside "Hart & Hunter" is a must!

The Palihotel was definitely different from anywhere I had stayed before. After our plans fell through, me and my roommate had to desperately search for a hotel with open rooms on a weekend in Hollywood. We found the Palihotel and called to make sure they had rooms available, and they did. The parking situation was odd, there were a few spaces underneath the building, but luckily there was a spot open for my car. The amenities were great, the room had a very boutique, chic, antique style feel to it and was extremely comfortable. The front desk staff was very friendly and helped us locate the nearest liquor store. The restaurant in the lobby seemed fun and eclectic, but unfortunately we didn't have time to try it out. Overall I had a great stay here, I just wish the price was more reasonable. Pretty expensive for a stay that we probably did not take full advantage of.

Trendy spot. Nice area. Brainless staff. Room booked was officially "2 adults , 2 children under 12 y.-old" and reality was "2 single beds, full stop". Is there not a problem? "No, but you can be upgraded if you an extra $50/night". Liars.

En general, be. Difícilment repetiré quan torni a LA, però per una cuestió de variar, però si tingués que ahar-hi un altre cop, no em faría res. Be, no estaría malament q milloressin el wi-fi.
