Healing Haiti, One Project at a Time

January 2015 marks the fifth-year anniversary of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated Haiti.

The LSU/Haiti Task Force is an interdisciplinary collaborative focusing on specific projects to align what LSU and its institutional partners do in Louisiana with what LSU can do with universities and institutional partners in Haiti.

The new LSU College of Engineering Patrick Taylor Hall will include modern lab space, dedicated capstone project space, 110,000 square feet of classrooms and more. According to Dean Koubek, “This new facility will not only provide a contemporary environment for computer scientists, construction managers and engineers to learn, it will inspire a culture of innovation among students and researchers working to solve the world’s toughest engineering challenges.” The college is the largest at LSU and the 18th largest program in the United States.
