I really enjoyed my time here. It is a beautiful restaurant and the staff were very nice. The food was amazing and it was $40 per person BUT you get a four-course meal. I thought it was worth every penny. I will be coming back!

I went on a weeknight to celebrate my birthday with my young children. First issue my daughter (4) noticed BUGS on our table!! We were moved to a new table and reassured they were a "clean establishment" and my children were hungry so we stayed.I had no idea they had a specific night that"kids eat free" until the waitress pointed it out so I ordered them an entrée from the kids menu (under the impression it was free. After all, an EMPLOYEE stated the fact) & I ordered my entrée. After waiting 40 mins, my salad came out. 30 mins later, the entrées. And finally, the dessert came 15 mins after we finished dinner! All the while, only getting ONE refill on my drink! When the check came, it was over $85??!!! My kids meals weren't taken off so I politely told the waitress who stated "oh let me get that fixed for you!" She came back 10 mins later only to tell me, only ONE of my kids' entrées would be free! It's one per adult entrée! I stated SHE was the one who told me "it'd be best to order them both one individually since they are FREE tonight!" So she said she'd ho ask the manager. Manager said no! My issue here is, not only were we inconvenienced bc of BUGS ON OUR TABLE, but also due to misinformation for YOUR EMPLOYEE, and they couldn't take off a measly $9.99!! No apology, no 10% off, no gift card to use later or anything??!!! I could've made a big deal about it, but I went ahead and paid my tab and left the server a nice tip.. They really need to develop some customer service skills before they're all out looking for new jobs!!! Now I understand why there were only 3 seats taken in the entire restaurant!!

My wife and I consider Melting Pot of Dayton to be one of our favorite places to eat. It is expensive but well worth the money. The service, food, and experience are all amazing. I would not bring young children to the restaurant, but I would highly recommend this location for a date night.

Staff is okay, but the menu is WAY overpriced for the food. The fondue appetizer is made with low quality cheese you can buy at the supermarket for a few bucks. I do not go in a restaurand for that. The salads are very small, but still 7$. They are not even that good. The entrees are good, but VERY expensive. About $30 each. I would only pay $10 for it, and I am usually not difficult when it comes to food. This restaurant is way too expensive.

Unfortunately our dinner could have been better. Our first time at this location and I can assure you we won't be back. Our server was okay- very abrasive and not overly friendly as the other girls I could hear at other tables. The classic alpine cheese tasted like someone poured alcohol in it. I thoroughly enjoy Swiss cheese but I couldn't enjoy this dip at all. The server noticed it was being eaten and asked if we needed more dippers or anything and I told her no, she could take it. There wasn't any apologies or anything and I just assumed maybe we didn't like that style. As for our Meal- the oil had been turned up so high by our serving that oil was practically exploding out of our pot and burning every thing. A different server walked by and was in shock and immediately turned down and went to get a manager. We had never got the oil cooking style and assumed maybe it was something we were doing wrong. Turns out if should not be like that and all the meat we just ate that was burnt, could have been better if the server did it correctly. Who knew. So the manager brought us fresh oil that we had to wait for it to eat up again- another 20 minutes. We cooked the last few pieces of our meats we had left and were amazed by the flavor. It was then we realized how much potential our dinner had and how awful it was at the mistakes of our server, not us. We assumed the manager would compensate something for the hassle and the burns on our hands but she didn't. Dessert however was great. But unfortunately, our anniversary was Unenjoyable and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We went with a large group (11) and expected service to take a bit longer due to it, but it was absolutely ridiculous. It took us 3.5 hours to get through the meal - people were literally falling asleep. Our server would disappear for 20-30 mins at a time while our drinks would go dry. Additionally he was very intrusive - often times hitting your shoulder as he reached directly in front of your face to retrieve an empty glass, and forcibly reaching under the table to adjust the temperature. The food quality has definitely gone down hill over the past few years, and the price has trended in the opposite direction. I don't mind paying for a good meal - but this an exceptionally expensive meal for the low quality ingredients they use. A lot of the vegetables were still half frozen, which isn't conducive to keeping a fondue pot up to temperature. They would end up sitting in a few inches of water as they continued to thaw on the table. Two of the cheese fondues were not prepared correctly, they were very oily. I complained to the manager when we were 2.5 hrs in and still were without entrees - he was dismissive, and then said he would "do something nice for us." The "something nice" was a $25 certificate for each couple towards our next visit. Appreciated, but will never get used.

In our backyard, so we decided to try it. Food was good although portions were not large. Nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly and explained all of the options. Yes, it is a bit pricey, considering the portions. We may be back but not necessarily right away.
