New generation of stainless steel checkweighers and X-ray scanners provide best possible product inspection

OCS Checkweighers introduces a new generation of dynamic, stainless steel checkweighers designed for the food industry at this year's IFFA in Frankfurt/Main.
Besides EC-Essential, the compact standard model for safe and reliable weighing of up to 150 pieces per minute, the exhibit also features HC-M and HC-A, two higher specified, successful checkweigher models that meet the most stringent requirements in modern, dynamic weighing technology in terms of accuracy and throughput.
The latest generation manufactured from stainless steel and designed for damp room environment enables the best possible product inspection for these so called wipe down conditions.
For the more demanding wash down cleaning regimes in the fresh food sector, OCS Checkweighers presents its Wash Down model (HC-M-WD), especially designed for intensive and frequently repeated high pressure cleaning cycles. These checkweighers with sophisticated performance features comply with the food industry’s strictest hygiene requirements. Often these type of machines are used in combination with an integrated metal detector.
OCS Checkweighers rounds out its trade fair portfolio with various x-ray scanners.

OCS product serialization impresses German economics minister Philipp Rösler at the Hannover Fair
Federal Minister of Economics Philipp Rösler was well informed on the current topic of product serialization in the pharmaceutical industry during his visit to the shared VDMA stand (Association of Mechanical and Plant Engineering) at the Hannover Fair 2013. OCS CEO Theo Düppre and team member Volker Ditscher informed Rösler about the latest "Track & Trace" technology in the field of product safety and its implementation using the "Traceable Quality System" (TQS) developed at OCS Checkweighers.
Volker Ditscher gave a live demonstration showing how an original drug can be distinguished from an imitation with 100 percent certainty using a mobile phone together with a recently printed code. Philipp Rösler was so impressed by the mature OCS technology that he requested a second demo to confirm the counterfeit protection and uniqueness of every printed serial number.
A crowd of nearly two hundred, including many photographers, stormed the VDMA shared stand for over a quarter hour under a barrage of camera flashes. Theo Düppre and Volker Ditscher are confident the company is technologically well-positioned to respond to the anticipated demand from the pharmaceutical industry. "There are still many drug manufacturers," said Ditscher, "that have not yet realized the real need to implement our leading edge technology. The boom is coming." Philipp Rösler agreed with the OCS specialist's estimate and advised the firm to take precautions now to stockpile supplies in order to avoid having to face distribution bottlenecks when the expected surge in demand arrives.
