This is one of my favorite Apple stores. They have amazing laptops and computers. Plus I like the way they stand behind their products. The lessons are amazing too. When you purchase a computer you can buy a year of lessons for I think about an extra $99 dollars which of course is a great deal. I recommend if you buy a computer or laptop here you get the extra warrantee so that your totally covered. This store is open around the clock so if you need help late, there are here for you.

This is Apple's flagship store for a reason. The architecture, the service, open 24/7... It doesn't get better than this location. This is how good the customer service here is: I bought a new, in the box iPad 2 on eBay for my technophobic Mom. This was in February. Her birthday wasn't for months and months yet. So much for my keeping abreast of new tech... the iPad 3 comes out. Time passes. What was I to do? I can't exchange an eBay auction item. The couple that sold it to me already paid for the surgery for their Golden Lab with the proceeds. What the hell. I'll see if I can upgrade it at the Apple Store. Apple Store on B'way, on the Upper West Side... no dice. I didn't even make it past the vestibule. The damn greeter took it upon herself to play bouncer and wouldn't even let me see the manager. "No. They're not going to take it" Fine. I'm not fighting with self-importance clad in a blue tee shirt. Now it's late and there's no way I will make it to my favorite location on 14th Street. Wait! The 5th Ave Store is open 24 hours! I get there around 8 PM. No pompous gate keeper. I ask to see a manager and poof!, there she is! To grease the wheels of this transaction, I told them was willing to upgrade my 16 Gig, non-3G iPad 2 for their top of the line 3. "No problem" she said. Since all I had was the packing slip from the couple's credit card points purchase, they looked up the iPad via the serial number. Since she confirmed the purchase, I was good to go! I pay the difference and walk out with a soon to be obsolete iPad 3. Damn you iPad 4. Damn you. But I don't feel so burned. I quasi-grifted my way into an exchange of an iPad that I paid less than retail for. I doubted that they were ever going to give me an iPad 4 for a really "old" 2, no matter how I tried to finesse it. Though, since they're still selling the 2 while the 3 now lays on the dust heap of technology, you might still have a shot.

Apple really does it right with its stores. The glass structure with the Apple logo was awesome. Went to the Apple store to look at some of the iPad models. I really liked the way the staff just let you go about the store without bothering you. There were a lot of staff there that it did not take long to get answers to any question I had. I thought it was really neat how the orders were taken on some type of iPhone or iPod. Just going there like a tourist would be fun too if you did not need to buy anything.

Very crowded location, hence appeal is low. Still, the place is clean and, if you can get served, salespeople can be very helpful. Lots of cool products to try but if you plan on buying or have a question, expect long lines. I like apple, but this location is right in the middle of a very touristy area, so it's bound to attract lots of people with time on their hands. If you want to get in and get out, find somewhere else. On the plus side, it's open 24/7, 365 days (according to apple website July 2012) I've come here twice times, once to replace a broken ipad 2 and twice to buy an iphone 5. The first time, i was able to get what i wanted after a long but reasonable wait of 45 minutes. The second time, I waited 3 hours before someone was available and then was told that I couldn't buy the iphone without signing up for a plan (which i already had through work). That was a lousy experience.
