When your toddler reaches at least 12 months, their exploration days begin. Climbing is just one of the manifestations of this important toddler milestone. Don’t be surprised to see them climbing up anything elevated. Baby-proof your home with these tips:

• Ensure they’re climbing on safe items.

• Put cushions or pillows on the floor.

• Secure bookshelves or furniture to prevent toppling.

• Limit the ways they can find ways to climb.

• Install improvised gates below and above the stairs.

When not at home, put your kid in a safe playground or center such as RedHatDayCareCenter.

Parents, Here Are Tips for Your Child’s First Time at a Child Care Center

• Minimize stress and anxiety by taking your time in the preparation and leaving.

• Right before you leave, say your calm goodbye and remind them of your return.

• Don’t retrace your steps when you hear your kid crying at your leaving. (Childcare experts will help comfort them.)

• Don’t sneak out without their knowledge as this trigger their fear of your disappearance.

3 Tips for Parents with Kids Who Hate Baths

Convincing your child to take a bath can be tough, but the trick is to make it as creative as possible to get them looking forward it every time.

Here's how to do it:

1. Let them bring their favorite toys into the tub. Plastic dolls or inflatable toys are great bath companions to help them feel at ease.
2. Try using fizzy bath tablets for that element of surprise! You can also use this opportunity to teach them about colors and shapes.
3. Let them paint on the tub walls using special finger-paint soap or bath crayons to make bath time feel like “art time”.

Improve Kids’ Social Skills with These 4 Tips

- Always make eye contact when talking to your kids, so they will follow. Eye contact builds confidence and makes communication effective.

- Talk to them and ask them questions every day, so they can practice expressing their thoughts and feelings.

- Give them good company. Lots of opportunities to socialize with different people will train them to interact with the wider world.

- Help them distinguish between their emotions. You can make faces, use picture books, or recount events and their reactions. This helps them express their feelings when mingling with other kids.
