Every time I come into the city I make it a point to watch live comedy. I go to all the different clubs, but what impresses me most of the New York Comedy Club is that every time I am there they seem to always add something new that makes it even better than my last visit. The comedy is the best part of the club, which is how it's supposed to be. But since my first time there they've added even bigger names and have a lot of great young comics that add a good balance to the lineups; which makes it exciting because you never know which one of these younger comics are gonna hit it big. On one of my first visits ever here I saw Pete Davidson, and now he is on Saturday Night Live! So it's great when a comedy club has that kind of mix with their performers. They also now have this quaint and cozy cafe next door that is a great addition for the patrons of the club. I see in a lot of reviews people saying that the bar area is a bit snug, but now with the cafe next door, patrons can hang out there and grab a coffee or beer and just hang out until people start being seated. So there are a few options now for customers in between shows. You can tell that management really cares about the customer experience, because they are always evolving and adding things on to make every visit a unique on. I kind of stopped going to the other clubs because it's sort of the same thing every time at the other venues. The lineups are kind of stale after you've been to the other clubs a few times. The food and drink menus at other clubs rarely change too.. whereas at New York Comedy Club every time I go it always feels like a new experience. This is a definite must go while in New York!

Good comedy, surprisingly decent food and drink. There's a 2 drink minimum, for which their 'non alcoholic package' (Unlimited juice, soda or water, plus one bowl of unexpectedly non stale popcorn) may substitute. The service is essentially one person, so lower your expectations and you'll be satisfied. There's plenty of tax and extra charges, so factor that in. They also charge for entry. The comedy was pretty good, if you're in the mood to laugh. If you're turned off by foul language or talk about people's sex lives then this may not be the place for you. But if you can let some of that go and still enjoy the other jokes, there's plenty of witty, non-polarizing comedy too. Check out their website to see if they've got a show lined up. They sometimes give the names of the performers so you can know what to expect. But some of my favorite performances were by brand new people, so keep an open mind.

This is exactly what you come to expect from a comedy venue in NYC. It has a classic and vintage New York feel with a clean and sexy bar area along with a black box showroom. There isn't one bad seat in the house and the lighting and sound is perfect. Some venues are strangely bright and too often the sound at venues sound muffled whereas at the New York Comedy Club it's all set up for the comedy goer to have an ultimate comedy experience. They also serve a very different menu than most comedy clubs, but also serve up some classics like their delicious nachos! The drinks are also awesome and reasonably priced with an array of craft beers and frozen concoctions. Aside from really good food and awesome drinks this comedy club is mainly all about the comedy experience. If you are a true comedy fan, then I can't imagine there being a better place to see live comedy! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

If you're traveling to New York City, you have a lot of opportunities to see live comedy. Some comedy clubs are fantastic, and some are tourist traps. This club is great. The nightly are filled with some of the best comedians in the world. I highly recommend.

We went to this club for my birthday in October of 2016. It was a week night, so we had lowered our expectations, but no need to do so! We had an incredible time. The comics were polished, hilarious and so much fun. We also loved seeing a couple "up 'n' comers" test drive some new stuff - they were terrific! We expected a short show, again because it was a week night, but we totally got our money's worth. We were completely gratified by the variety, the number of comics we got to see and the total length of the show. The drinks were great, too! We cannot wait to get back to the New York Comedy Club as soon as possible. Perfect evening - on a weeknight!!!

Choosing a comedy club isn't so easy after all. Saturday night, my husband and I were looking to get our laughs somewhere so we started googling comedy clubs in NYC and checking the line ups. (You'd be surprised how time consuming that is). We checked most of the top rated ones and were happy to settle with NYCC for the night. The line up looked absolutely fantastic. We got to the doors probably 15 minutes to the show starting. The guy who greeted us and took our reservation was fabulous, upbeat and definitely set the mood right away. Thankfully we were seated at the back out of the comedians eye views so there was no interaction with them (we don't like that). The waitresses were prompt, attentive and very pleasant to deal with. The line up of comedians that night were absolutely hysterical and funny aside for 1 of them -- I don't think the audience appreciated her sense of humor --. By the time it was over we all had huge smiles on our faces and were pleased with the money well spent. I would definitely come back here and recommend it as one of my favourite NY Comedy Clubs.

Without question the best comedy club in NYC. The club is intimate and always packed, so the energy is always great! Even on the rare occasions I've been when it's not so full it's still great because of the perfect size of the showroom. What I like most about the New York Comedy Club is that you'll see a wide variety of comedians and shows. It's rare that you will see the same comics over and over again at the New York Comedy Club, whereas at other venues you'll basically see the same people. Also the staff is GREAT! They seem to be appreciative of the business and want you to feel incredibly welcome and always make you feel at home. They'll also hook you up with VIP passes for future shows and always urge customers to hang out at their cafe next door or even stick around for a drink at the bar. What's also great is that the comedians will hang out too! So if there's a comic you really liked you'll be able to meet them afterwards and hang out with them. Everyone from the staff to the comics really seem to care about the venue and it makes it feel like a home. The New York Comedy Club just makes everything feel so seamless and easy for the customer. And most importantly the comedy is amazing!!! Overall a must thing to do in NYC!

Every comedian was so funny! We had a blast. Laughed so hard I had tears coming out of my eyes. We went on a Thursday night but the show was sold out. Definately worth it. Drinks were priced for Manhattan. They were not cheap wirh the alcohol.

Comedy clubs under the B rooms meet the aspects of the A rooms and C rooms where stand-up comedians who are starting in the business usually start in. Acts here take longer time and even had to do some hosting in betweens. It is also common for these clubs to have dirty material in their themes.

C rooms are more laid-back rooms of comedy bars with walk-in customers and typical "neighborhood" comedy clubs. Actors here are usually not that famous yet.

Comedy is a tough business to become a part of. You either start writing it, hit the stage to perform it, or you do both. Stand-up is the cruelest of all the forms that comedy manifests itself. Being a stand-up comedian can be very difficult, as it
