I love Google+ Stories. When software can automatically weave my photos, videos and places I've been into a beautiful travelogue, that's a plus.

Congratulations to the Google+ team!

Wow, this is really amazing. Just tried it and it worked in the Foursquare app and in Chrome. Its a little messy in Chrome but totally works!

And my response is that the main point of sharing will continue to be facebook, even if only because it would be foolish to omit "authoritarian data repository" from the definition of "main" in this context. Facebook more than any other service has combined reach with high level data, that's not a fact that can diminish.

I think it also worth noting that this characteristic of facebook may well lead to it being propped up for years beyond the point at which the market might otherwise have let it expire.

Happy mothers day! Fathers and kids: Recipe for the best pancakes in the world. Buttermilk is the secret. These are thinner than normal. Pancakes:

Preheat griddle.

stir together:

1 cup of flour
1/2  tsp. of salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp. sugar.

stir together:

2 cups of buttermilk (sometimes i substitute  half yogurt or 1/4 sour cream)
2 eggs.
4 Tbs melted butter.

Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients.

Drop small pancakes on the hot greased griddle (I used clarified butter)

Add blueberries if desired.

Android Wear Developer Preview Now Available

Today, we announced that Android is extending to wearables with #AndroidWear. So how do you get started developing for Android Wear? Well, you probably already have. With Android Wear, notifications from your Android phone are automatically sent to your wrist.

You can also now sign up for the Android Wear Developer Preview which lets you customize notifications for the wrist. The Preview provides new APIs for wrist-based wearables, such as receiving voice replies, adding notification pages and stacking multiple notifications. There’s also a system image for the Android emulator to let you test your notifications.

To learn more about Android Wear and the Developer Preview, check out the blog post (linked below) and these #DevBytes episodes:

Also make sure to join the new Android Wear Developers community right here on Google+ to discuss your next wrist-based wearable project:

New photo features in Google+ for Android

Today’s update to Google+ for Android is all about photos. In particular, the app includes:

Non-destructive photo editing across devices
Starting today you can start your edits on one device, and continue (or start over) on another. This means you can backup full-resolution photos from your desktop, edit them in seconds on your phone, then add some finishing touches from your tablet. (And you can revert to your originals at any time!) The technical term for this experience is non-destructive editing in the cloud, and we think you'll really enjoy it.

Brand new filters and creative tools
Now when you edit your photos, you’ll have a powerful set of tools (like crop and rotate), 1-touch filters, and Snapseed-inspired enhancements (like Drama, Retrolux, and HDR Scape). Mix and match to make your photos look their absolute best.

A single view of all your photos
The new ‘All’ view displays your entire photo library — whether it’s on your current device, or backed up in the cloud. If your library is really large (> 10s of thousands of photos), the app won’t show all your photos initially. But stay tuned, because we’re supporting larger and larger libraries over the next few weeks.

An easy way to browse your photos by date
In addition to search, there’s now another way to find your photos fast. Just swipe through your photos in the ‘All’ view, and look for the scroll bar on the right. Dragging the scroll bar up or down will quickly move you forwards or backwards in time.

The app is rolling out gradually to Google Play (v4.3, http://goo.gl/ruuHW), so check back soon if you don’t see it yet. #googleplusupdate
