I'm sitting in my car after having two rolls from sakura in perinton sq mall. I expected better after reading some very positive reviews. I can tell you the fish was not fresh. The jasmine green tea competed with the flavors of the sushi. And the dressing on the salad was strangely and unpleasantly sweet. My recommendation if you're thinking of going to sakura garden for sushi is don't bother. Wegmans sushi is better. And Wegmans sushi is at best mediocre.

You can get a lot of bang for your buck with the lunch specials. The wonton soup and sushi are excellent. I will definitely eat here again. Clean and neat decor. Staff could be more attentive and friendlier. Although I think it might be Japanese custom?

I live right near this establishement and there hasn't been a thing on this menu that I have tried that hasn't tasted excellent. The servers are very friendly and we go there so often now that they even have learned what we order most of the time. My boyfriend says the sushi is the best he has ever had, and I believe that the house fried rice is the best I have ever had. I would highly recommend this place. It may be small on the inside, but what they lack in the size of the restaurant, they make up for in the food quality and their prices are very reasonable.

We were going to go to our "regular" Chinese food place but thought we'd take a risk on trying someplace new. This is my new "regular" place now. This was my first visit and the food tasted so fresh. I finally left an Asian food place without feeling bloated. I can't wait to go again.

I have eaten at this location (I believe the same owners own Sakura Home), on several occasions and have always been delighted. They demonstrate a commitment to detail and high quality at reasonable prices. Their sushi of high quality and always fresh. Their service is attentive and genuine, and the restaurant is spotless. p.s. I gave up eating Chinese food years ago because it is typically smothered in sugar sauces, and greasy. However I have tried their version of Chinese selections and find their dishes to be lighter. Also, regarding the the dish of raw pounded fish referenced by a prior blogger, this is actually a proper dish, which is the fish version of beef tartar.

We went there a couple nights ago on Saturday and were pleasantly surprised. I had a dinner with three rolls - tuna, spicy tuna and a california. All were quite good. The presentation was very well done. My dinner came with miso soup and salad (the salad came with Italian dressing on it - a bit weird). My wife had a chinese tofu dinner and was quite pleased with it. The menu doesn't have many Japanese choices outside of sushi, but the addition of Chinese choices sort of makes up for that. The place is a bit on the small side, but is quite clean and we found the service to be friendly. The biggest surprise came with the check - $23 (including tax) for the two of us. A similar meal at some other Japanese places in the area would have been at least $15 more, and with more pretentiousness in the air : )

I am a big sushi fan so when this place opened I was hoping to finally get a sushi bar close enough to go for lunch. So I was extremely disappointed when I got my sushi and had my first taste. When i got my sushi and looked at it I was hard pressed to determine exactly what kind of fish was in my rolls. It in usually easy to pick out Tuna or salmon in a roll but all of mine consisted of some sort of thick paste substance. My chopstick was met with zero resistance as i passed it straight through this strange paste that filled the soggy rice and seaweed. If you are looking for good sushi you are better off going to Shiki, or even the Plum House or Plum Garden. Beyond the sushi there is almost no Japanese food to be found, and even the Miso soup that came with my meal was watered down. If you love Japanese food avoid this place.
