Design 'N Gather ("DNG") 2017 is an annual global tile mosaic competition created by Artaic - Innovative Mosaic. Artaic and Bostik (an Arkema company) combine their talents to sponsor the competition. The winning design will be mounted in a backlit lightbox. It will be produced in ¾” vitreous glass tile by Artaic, affixed to clear acrylic panels and grouted with Bostik’s Dimension™ RapidCure™ glass-filled, pre-mixed translucent grout. A silver Rilsan® powder coating will protect the exterior frame from abrasion and corrosion and a Kynar Aquatec® latex-based coating will be used to coat the interior of the backlit mosaic light box. http://ark.ma/bk-mosaic

Electro Chemical earned the Materials Technology Institute’s (MTI) 2016 Global Value Award for applying MTI guidebooks as they collaborated on a scrubber repair project that solved a corrosion problem while also enabling them to save significant time and money.

The resourceful project team, used MTI’s Guide for the Repair & Modification of FRP Equipment and Guide for the Repair & Modification of Lined Equipment to help evaluate the option of installing a Kynar® PVDF thermoplastic liner in an existing FRP scrubber that was exhibiting end-of-life characteristics due to chemical corrosion.

Polyvinylidene fluoride or PVDF is a semi-crystalline polymer with unique properties to help preserve the exterior of buildings that had so much invested in their aesthetic appeal. Kynar® PVDF resins, when paired with pigments containing the same long term durability, can retain color and luster for up to 30 years in the most UV and moisture intensive environments. Those benefits are hardly scratching the surface of what this amazing technology can do. Kynar 500® resins are weather resistant, have low surface energy with high mechanical strength and toughness, and prevent oxidation of metal surfaces, fading and cracking. It’s a no brainer when considering Kynar 500® resins for the most challenging projects. Click the link below to learn more! http://ark.ma/TPA-betterbuildings

180 tons of aluminum bar is no small amount. Thanks to the “massive” protection provided by Kynar 500® PVDF resin-based coatings, the Glass Tower in South Korea stands as a beautiful monument of the Seoul skyline. Designed by SAMOO Architects & Engineers and constructed in 1995, the 32-story skyscraper is home to both commercial office space and high-rise apartments in the Gangnam district of Seoul. Kynar 500® resin’s exceptional resistance to weathering, aging, fading, chalking and pitting help the Glass Tower maintain its beauty.

Coffee lovers rejoice! For nearly 26 years, Kynar 500® resin-based coatings have protected 1,500 square meters of aluminum cladding on Douwe Egbert’s coffee roasting facility in Utrecht, The Netherlands. For a company with nearly 263 years of history, it’s not just about providing protection for the facility’s exterior, but helping to provide a lasting legacy. Kynar 500® coating’s extreme weatherability, dirt shedding and resistance to chalking, pitting and fading offer protection from the harshest elements and aging, keeping the facility looking beautiful and shining bright for decades. This allows Douwe Egbert to worry about what they do best – crafting delicious roasts.

Illumination, visibility, cleanliness and safety. #SouthKorea’s Changwon Tunnel possesses all these qualities thanks to its Kynar Aquatec® resin-based ceiling coating.

Creating a pathway through the mountain on road number 1020 in the South Gyeongsang Province of South Korea, the tunnel faced problems like dulling due to dirt, diesel emissions and other airborne pollutants. After a month-long study of nine different coating systems, AKUAFLON® coating based on Kynar Aquatec® PVDF technology came out on top. The water-based coating brings long-lasting durability and excellent weatherability benefits to the tunnel, keeping the public safe as they ascend through the mountains.
