Getting the S(TEAM) Van up and running has been a big project this year! The mission of our program is to enhance student access, achievement and engagement in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) areas by providing shared STEAM educational resources and quality hands-on learning experiences at schools in the NEGA RESA and Oconee River GYSTC systems.

We piloted one of our challenges after spring testing, and it was a blast! Every student was engaged, regardless of their strengths or weaknesses, and the room was loud and excited! To encourage learning and reflection during the experience we built and guided students through a learning log where they recorded their work through the design process.

I greatly look forward to the future of this program and the learning involved for students, teachers and myself!

1. Barrow Elementary to talk with Andy Plemmons about his Maker Space and Media Center Programming (10:00-10:45)

2. Jefferson Academy to learn more about their Lego Robotics and Maker Space programming (12:15-1:15)

3. Jefferson Middle School to learn more about their Lego Robotics programming (1:30-2:30)

We could meet at Barrow, in Athens, and folks could ride with me to and from Jefferson. I've got room for 7!
