Things about me, randomly categorized and in no particular order…
Concept Red focuses on providing superior technology solutions to law firms and agencies in the field of litigation support.
In addition to direct services for legal videography and trial support, Concept Red has established successful partnerships with several court reporting agencies to supply their video and production needs, freeing those businesses from the burden of creating and maintaining an expensive legal technology department.
I am passionate about all things Project Management.
I wrote and developed a software tool, for project managers.
I consult for small business on Project preparation and business analysis.
I began my career as an Accountant which was a very respectable choice, but I kept getting distracted by all things shiny and techy and morphed into doing that more, focusing on process improvements, ERP and Finance software implementations – and from that discovered that Project Management was way more fun than doing budgets and variance analysis.
I blog, infrequently and badly on random Project Management related thoughts. My hope is that like bike riding, it will improve with practice.
I like hockey and beer. Often together, but that is not essential. The LA Kings are the best team in the NHL in my expert opinion :) I go to a LOT of games during the season, and as a consequence drink a lot of beer during the season!
I am a geek. Really. Not in a trendy, hip way. I still recall bits of BASIC which I used to write my first ever (totally lame card game now that I think of it) program on a computer whose name I do not recall but it was basically a cassette tape recorder dealio that plugged into a television…omg now I feel old. I also watched Dr Who – the original, first time around. I own a soldering iron and my own set of tools which are a pretty pink. Yep, geek.
I love science, science fiction, fantasy fiction and reading. Due to space considerations I did move from paper to a nook, much easier and no more emergency dashes to Ikea for shelves.
I still play video games. Guildwars and Rockband mostly. In consideration to my neighbors, I do close the windows when I sing, its only polite I think.
I have bungy jumped.
I try to play bass and guitar - both left handed while my hubby patiently drums (he is the real musician in the family) - sometimes this annoys one neighbor, I think they don't like music.
I know bits and pieces of various languages – French, Italian, HTML, PHP, C+ - all the popular ones, but no Mac. I need to learn some Mac. When I have time.
I cook and like it, which is not really PC for a girl to admit to these days – weird. I love entertaining and a great night is having people over for good food, good wine and great conversation.I can also sew, knit and crochet although I don’t have time much for that kind of thing.
I am Australian from Melbourne, but now live in Los Angeles, CA. I have been here for 12 years. My mum says I am losing my accent now, my American friends think my accent is cute – I don’t know who is right.
I always say please and thank you. Always.
