Okay, this is difficult, but here goes. Due to personal/health issues, I am no longer going to be able to actively develop and maintain Revenge OS. I apologize for any issues that this causes anyone. I have not made this decision lightly, but I feel that I have no other choice. I am simply no longer able to devote the time and effort that the project, and the end users, deserve. My understanding is that Josiah is going to continue to maintain Revenge OS; however, I'm sure that he would appreciate any help that others in the community could offer.

I wish everyone in the community the best!

Sincerely,
Jody

A few updates today. The Nemesis Installer now has an 'Extras' section where you can select to install your choice of browser, the lts kernel, libreoffice, steam, wine/playonlinux, and flatpak support. I also pushed a fix for the theme so it looks a bit better. The update is live, and the iso will download the new version as we speak.

There is also a large update to the revenge-wallpaper package. In addition to the AWESOME wallpapers that +Karl Schneider l has made for us, there is also a selection of Darkscape Wallpapers from the talented +Charlie Henson.

Finally, we are getting close to a new release. I say new release, Revenge OS is truly rolling so new releases happen very often with updates. But, I guess I'm trying to say that we are getting close to releasing a new iso. Just a few more things that I want to fix/include. Stay tuned!

Thanks to +Karl Schneider, the new plymouth boot screen is in the repo and ready for you guys to test! To test it out, download the revenge-plymouth-theme package. It will pull in the required plymouth package. Then:

Edit /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
Under hooks to add "plymouth" behind "base udev" like this:
HOOKS="base udev plymouth ....

Then edit /etc/default/grub
In the kernel line behind quiet, add "splash" with no quotes.

Then run
sudo plymouth-set-default-theme -R revengeos
sudo grub-mkconfig -o boot/grub/grub.cfg
sudo systemctl disable lightdm.service
sudo systemctl enable lightdm-plymouth.service

It should then work when you reboot. If you have issues, see this wiki page:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Plymouth

I know it's a lot of steps to test it, when it's implemented you won't have to do any of that, I promise!

Thanks,
Jody

The new version of the Nemesis Installer is now live. More features will be added in time, but the new ui is a bit nicer and more cohesive. No need to download a new iso to try it out, the iso will download the new version when you run it.
