Went for dinner the night they had a band with a cover charge. We paid the cover, didn't receive 'tickets', left before the band started, and they tried to scam me out of getting my cover back since I didn't have the tickets. Be vigilant.

New TV wall and games machines added. Dartball machines are A1 quality. Mojo fries are the best you'll eat. Smells of BBQ beef & pork fill the air, and the new TouchTunes has a groovin' sound system! Uptown Blues culture rules!

WORST BRUNCH EVER!!! We have been going to brunch at Famous Dave's for over a decade. It has never been this bad and we will not being going back again. We had to yell to speak to each other over the really, really, really, really bad LOUD country music. Nothing says relaxing brunch like screaming at each other over country music at a blues bar. The harmonica was worse than fingernails down a chalkboard. The highlight was when the band finally took a break after about 2 hours (when we were about to leave). The only people who liked the band were obviously there just to see them since they were right in front, dancing away to every tune while getting drunk. So 5 people seemed to enjoy the music. There were staff all over but dirty dishes piled up on our table. We got extra waters no one asked for but couldn't get a glass for the Bloody Mary bar. Well, at least we didn't get charged for the drink that was ordered but never came. The lemon bars didn't really taste like lemon. Much of the fresh fruit wasn't ripe enough. The guy replenishing the fresh fruit splattered the juices over anyone who was near the table (like my mom) since he was just slapping fruit down as fast as he could. The prime rib was great if you got any meat; most of it was fat. $23? For that? What a rip off! Brunch didn't used to be so expensive. It used to be better food and service. Considering that the quality of food has gone down while prices almost doubled since Famous Dave's has been doing Sunday brunch, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone except someone I really dislike. Save yourself money and exasperation... go to Perkins. Seriously. Perkins sucks too, but you won't have to yell to make yourself heard and the food is only slightly worse than what is served at Famous Dave's. It will be much less expensive, parking won't be a nightmare (or cost ya another $10), and you won't need a Xanax (or loan) to get through the meal. Better yet, go to Chez Daniel in Bloomington. At least it is worth the expense and you won't leave deaf and disappointed.

Definitely has a great atomsphere. Food was as expected, and service was above average. The live music was very good. Root City was playing, and I definitely recommend going to see this band.

We came here on a part bus a couple weekends ago. I ordered a shot of tequila for a friend, and when the bartender picked up this low grade, cheap, unheard of bottle of tequila, I asked what is that? He said 'tequila'! I asked how much was it? He states $7!! I said thanks but no thanks and sat down at our table. I asked our waitress how much a shot of jose quervo was, she went to the bar and asked, came back and said $3! (-.-) Aside, from that, the food was pretty darn good. A bit pricey, but what do you expect when your uptown...? I came back the next day, same bartender was there. I ordered a shot of tequila, just to see what would happen, and yes, he pulled out that same no-name low grade bottle of tequila. I said how much? $3. lol.....thanks, but no thanks.
