He wants all to join this Campaign and make all the people in India aware of the facts. He says that, if we fail in this, our nation will have to face a frightening situation, as men of marriageable age will not be able to find suitable brides. This, in turn, will result in increase in crimes if violence against women – this is already taking place now. ‘So let us all join this Campaign to stop female foeticide’ he concludes.

I am Sai Pallavi and I dare to wear the Pink Spot to declare my support for #Fight4theFoetus campaign. We cannot remain idle onlookers when the future of our nation is getting darker and darker. The practice of female foeticide is going to take our country back in to the dark ages of barbarism. If we do not unite at this moment to put an immediate stop to this murder of the unborn girl child, the whole world will look down upon us as uncivilised and the coming generation will suffer a lot of misery.

Dr. Soumya Swaminathanm, Secretary to Govt of India and Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research, is proud and happy to wear the Pink Spot in support of the #Fight4theFoetus Campaign because she says that it is high time that all of us realise the gravity of the reduction in Child Sex Ratio among children aged 0 to 6. She wonders how men can live in a country without mothers, sisters and daughters. She wants all young men and women of this country to take it upon themselves to stop the horrible practice of female foeticide. ‘Let us all fight for an India where girls and boys have an equal chance of survival and good life’, she says.

Shri. Sushil Chandra Baluni, noted vaastu consultant and numerologist, dares to wear the Pink Spot and calls on all to do so in support of the nationwide Campaign Fight4theFoetus. He says “The sin of foeticide is graver than the sins of homicide and suicide and female foeticide is graver than male foeticide because female is the source of future lives which are also destroyed in the process of foeticide. Those who commit the sin of female foeticide will suffer a lot in the next life and will lose all luck in that life. Even thinking of female foeticide is a sin. Foeticide is a bad influence on the society, on self-sustaining nature and on luck. Think yourself and make others think. My supplication to you all is to join the campaign Fight4theFoetus.”

Rajya Sabha Member and Congress Leader, Shri Vayalar Ravi, expresses his joy to hear that a nationwide campaign against female foeticide is going on. He says that the trend of killing the female foetus is evil and antisocial. The mother is the most effulgent and energetic source of the reproductive process, growth and development of our society. The thought of eliminating girl children is against society and nobody should encourage it in any way. He calls upon all young people to join in the campaign Fight4theFoetus and make it a success.

Major Dalbir Singh, Member, Advisory Board, Girl Rising India, President of Foundation for Policy and Governance and National Secretary of All India Congress Committee, has joined the national campaign that fights against sex selective killing of the female foetus. He calls upon all to join the campaign and says that female foeticide is a heinous crime but it is a fundamentally a social, cultural and economic problem. We must give girls equal status and empower women. Legislations by Governments are not sufficient if the society is not convinced of the gravity of the situation. We all have to work together to fight this societal problem. He ends his message quoting a Shloka from page 473 of Guru Grandh Sahib:

“From the woman are we born
In woman’s womb we are shaped
To the woman we are engaged,
To the woman we are wedded;
The woman is our friend and
From woman comes our family;
If one woman dies we seek another,
Because woman is the source and
Bond of love to the whole world;
How can we call woman evil
From whom comes the King?
Without woman there is none.”
