Here's a solution to a lack of storage and a waste of space in a new build.

The majority of the cavity under the stairs is taken up by a WC but then the designer/ builder has just boarded and plastered the remaining area.

So we trimmed the board out and built a sub floor to accept the new skirting board, boarded and skimmed the internal wall area and used 12mm mdf to create the doors an vertical trim that covers the door edges to give the image of a complete panel.

The pictures don't show the skirting board as the customer is going to wait until he is ready do the entire house and also the doors are only primed as the customer is trying to decide weather to gloss it all or to match it to to rest of the walls covering.

As a guide this conversion project cost £230. The cost will vary depending on the size of cavity, the quantity/ type of materials required plus the design choices and finish that are required by the customer.
