An easy way to see which passwords you need to change now, thanks to the Heartbleed security bug (good for those of us not using LastPass):
By now you've probably heard about the massive Heartbleed security bug that may have compromised the majority of the world's web sites. Everyone should change their passwords on the affected sites--but only after those sites have patched the issue. Mashable is maintaining and updating a list of the most popular sites you should change your passwords for ASAP.

LastPass is crazy useful. Just, y'know, hope it never gets cracked. ¬.¬

Due to the nature of the Heartbleed bug, you shouldn't change all your passwords just yet. LastPass will let you know which ones to change, and when:
This week, a giant security hole came to light that affects a large portion of the internet. As different sites recover, you'll need to change your passwords, and now LastPass tells you when to do so.

+Jay Blanc It's more of a "just in case" thing I think, it's good practice to change your passwords every once in a while anyway.

+Andy Borowitz: Boehner: “I Don’t Want to Live in a World Where Seven Million People Get Affordable Health Care” #satire
Tears streaming down his cheeks, Boehner appeared unable to maintain his composure as he delivered a speech interrupted by blubbering.

Ah yes, "doing the cool and useful thing" vs. "doing what the manager wants." Always a problem.

The Internet is littered with missed opportunities, but AOL's resistance toward AIM looms larger than most.
In many ways, AOL Instant Messenger was right in line with the times, just at a company hanging on to a business model that would soon become obsolete.

Memo to congress: Obama has run out of fucks to give over your sabotage and obstructionism. You've done nothing but ask for this.

Jeff Shesol on the fear of an active President: "By closing off Capitol Hill as an avenue of national progress ... the #GOP invites the very exercise of executive authority that it loudly deplores."
One of the principal merits of Obama’s approach to executive action is that it gives congressional Republicans fits.

They don't wanna lead, they wanna rule.

then there's this line from near the end of the article:  " Lay down your pen and your phone, Ted Cruz implores the President; if there’s disagreement over a law, “work with Congress to change the law” instead of operating “above the law.”  "

Mr. Ted. "shut the whole government down if i can't have my fucking way" Cruz said that the president should compromise more instead of dangerously just Doing What He Thinks Is Right.

The cognitive dissonance is getting louder.

"For their own good."

What worries me most about the Heartbleed SSL security flaw is that it appears to have been identified after Google's audits of trying to work out how the NSA got into their network. Which suggest that the NSA discovered a security flaw in a system used every day by people to make credit card exchanges and access their bank accounts. And rather than following their mandate to provide security, they kept their findings secret so they could use it as a global back door into the general public's communications.

Odds are that the NSA inserted the flaw like they've done with many other open source security products.  If it gets tracked back to them, the fireworks should be fun to watch.

Considering that our entire company has been patching thousands of machines today and re-keying all the certs (assume they've been stolen folks!), all that costs money. If the NSA did it to snoop on keys, then they just cost this country billions!
