Wow your users with Google Cast!

Engaging users is easier when you follow well thought out UX practices. Google Cast has a well developed UX model that helps application users interact with Cast enabled applications.

In our latest blog post, developer advocate Alex Danilo has documented some of the most important Cast UX practices for developers to understand alongside a series of short video explainers to understand the reasoning behind each of them.

Take a look at our latest blog post to learn more.

Chrome custom tabs: smoothing the transition between apps and the web

Android app developers face a difficult tradeoff when it comes to showing web content in their Android app. Opening links in the browser is familiar for users and easy to implement, but results in a heavy-weight transition between the app and the web.

You can get more granular control by building a custom browsing experience on top of Android’s WebView, but at the cost of more technical complexity and an unfamiliar browsing experience for users. A new feature in the most recent version of Chrome called custom tabs addresses this tradeoff by allowing an app to customize how Chrome looks and feels, making the transition from app to web content fast and seamless. Learn more in our latest blog post.

#UX  Tip of the day: Make sure that users know what action to take on your site

When a user lands on your page it should be very clear what they should pay attention to first, second, and so on. There should also be a clear next action for them to take whether it's clicking “buy” to make a purchase or reading a related article.

Follow these tips to create meaningful calls to action: https://goo.gl/71BH2K
