Director of Pharmacy - NC

Progressive 140 Bed Acute Care Hospital located in Southwestern North Carolina is currently recruiting for a Pharmacy Director.  This top 100 Hospital offers tremendous quality of life and practice opportunities.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Pharmacy Services is responsible for all in-house pharmacy operations/activities, as well as the offsite physician practices. The Director interacts collaboratively with other Hospital Departments/Department Managers to determine actions to be accomplished, accepts responsibility for the entire pharmacy department, and is in charge of leadership supervision and management within the pharmacy department. Serves on various committees and is responsible for safely and effectively managing the medication management system in its entirety and complying with and meeting all regulatory agency standards. This includes improving the quality of care by:
Developing clinical monitoring programs and drug protocols.
Presenting medication policies, procedures and protocols to the P&T committee for approval.
Working to reduce variation, errors, and misuse of medications.
Budgeting Pharmacy expenses and maintaining expenses under budget.
Maintaining high interdepartmental satisfaction scores.
Using evidence-based practices to develop medication management process.
Managing critical processes to promote safe medication management throughout the hospital.
Monitoring the medication management process for efficiency, quality, and safety.
Providing drug information to Physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Continuing education of the pharmacy staff.
Student pharmacist training.
Projects including Medicare and JACHO standards, inventory management, processes automation and tracking, as well as making sure that the organization meets the requirements set by the State and Federal government, develops policies and procedures for the department.
Setting goals and objectives for the pharmacy department, assesses those goals and objectives, and demonstrating knowledge of and a commitment to upholding the corporate policies, identifies department specific risks; educates staff; monitors high risk areas and evaluates staff performance in these areas.
CREDENTIALS

* North Carolina Pharmacist Licensed or Eligible Required

* BS in Pharmacy or PharmD Required

* Previous Inpatient Hospital Management Experience Preferred

* Strong Inpatient Hospital Practice Experience Required

Progressive Hospital located in beautiful Anchorage, Alaska is currently recruiting for a full-time Clinical Pharmacy Manager.  The Pharmacy Clinical Manager is responsible for designing, implementing and managing the pharmacy clinical programs. This includes formulary management, policy and procedure development and education across the healthcare spectrum. The Clinical Manager shall also assist in managing the pharmacy when the Pharmacy Director or designee is unavailable. 

Qualifications 

* B.S. or Pharm D from an ACPE Accredited school of Pharmacy Required 

* Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy or other specialty, and at least one of the following: 

 * Min. of 1 year as Advanced Clinical Pharmacist or equivalent role. 

 * 5 years of hospital pharmacy exp; preferably within area of focus 

* Completion of hospital PGY1/PGY2  pharmacy residency or fellowship 

* Other certification (e.g. FCCP, FASHP) 

* ACLS certification preferred
