Huge, fun park for the best friend! Better for larger dogs, but if your little mutt can handle a little rough housing it's great for them too. The lake is awesome, really fun for the pup to swim in. They have excellent baths you can buy at the end, and I recommend treating your pup to a doggy ice cream to top it off.

Visited Dog Wood today for the first time. All I can say is - awesome! Wasn't sure what to expect but had a great visit from start to finish. Park employees were very nice and helpful, gave me a tour first and shared some helpful hints for a novice dog park person. My dog did great and had a blast in the lake. He played with several other dogs and everyone was well behaved. Never having been to a dog park, much less one so big, I wasn't sure what to expect. Grounds were very well maintained, plenty of water stations for the dogs and lots of places to explore. We will definitely be back. Thanks Dog Wood!

Having a large "aggressive" it's hard to get play time for my dog that involves other dogs. We brought Gunner to dogwood last week and he has never had so much fun at a park before! Everyone was so nice and welcoming plus the dogs loved gunner. The amount of space there is amazing

Online it says they are open until 6pm, so we thought if we arrived there 10 minutes BEFORE 6 that we would be able to get our membership and use the park. Not the case, actually, they were completely closed 10 till 6, not a soul in sight. Maybe we missed the memo that places close a little before they're supposed to? Someone please enlighten me if this is the case.

My wife and I have taken our dog(s) there over the years, but never as members. We live on the other side of town and felt it wouldn't be worth it to us or our dog(s) to spend the extra money. The park itself and the dogs are great. The dogs get to run and play and just have a great time. Now, I get there are some dogs that are rambunctious and do things that are not of people standards, but dogs will be dogs. I also know there are rules that have to be followed. One of these rules is humping. Yes, humping. No humping!!! Gross, but animal behavior and I get it. So needless to say, it was our dog who was trying to mount, which was upsetting the owner. I get it, you don't want your dog to be mounted, but don't kick or place your feet on someone's dog. Especially, if the other owner is trying to help get the dog off and telling he or she no. What ruined it for us was the employee who came out and tried to lecture me about the rules. "Humping is Not Allowed People!!!" Okay, the employee didn't say it like that. But, when I explained, with frustration might I add, that we get it, we know the rules, and that the other owner was kicking, in my opinion, our dog. She pauses, and says, "We just want to remind you that humping is not allowed." What!!!??? At the time I wasn't laughing, so I was a prick and turned and walked away, because I know this employee didn't care what I had to say. The majority of people understand the difference between people and animal behavior, but some are just ridiculous. So after many years of DOG WOOD play time, we are never going back. Conclusion, One Employee + One Dog Owner = Ruined. No tolerance for ignorance. Take your dog(s) and have fun, but watch out for some PEOPLE. Peace!!!!!!!!

4 paws up :) This is definitely the best dog park that we've ever been to - and we've been to many. My dogs had a great time from the moment the pounced in the door to the time they finished their doggie ice cream. Overall a great experience and I would definitely reccomend it to anyone who's looking for a clean, friendly place to exercise your dogs. I was very impressed by how knowledgeble the employee was who greeted us and gave us a tour. She did a great job in explaining what was available to us, where to go and what to expect. Made us feel very welcomed (I later found out it was the mgr - so that was a plus of how staff are trained). We didn't encounter any aggressive dogs as mentioned in the last review. Seems more of an owner problem which we run into at almost every dog park. In fact, there was a staff member at the lake who was also very friendly and attentive to what was going on in the park. There was a young dog/puppy who was a bit annoying to some of the other dogs and the owner was not responding. The employee went over to redirect the dog several times before the owner finally got involved. On our way out we took advantage of the self service bathing stations. Once again, staff was right there to assist as our dogs aren't big fans of getting a bath. On our way out, we were actually thanked for coming in and welcomed back for future visits. Kudos to a great staff and beautiful dog park!

No experience there necessary when they treat service dogs and veterans as lesser people and kick them out. Vets with PTSD and Handicap people that require service dogs not allowed on there property because of the leash? A highly trained service dog that is sitting down next to its owner is the least threatening animal there. The woman who kicked out the veteran has higher chance of making the dogs aggressive then any service dog on a leash will ever do. I don't care how amazing the place may be.. the people who own and run the place have shown their true colors. In case people need a reference to what I am talking about... Google search " Marine Vet and Service Dog kicked out of dog park for leash" I highly recommend people visit a dog park that treats veterans / handicap people with service dogs with respect without first needing to be given bad publicity to change their ways.
