At last! A rational plan.

I like 'list view', but the default is grid view.
Every time I change it, you change it back.
Why can't you save my chosen setting?

It's like Google News; no matter how many times I choose 'sort by date', you still revert to 'sort by relevance' (even when it isn't), as soon as my back is turned.

Rival products may be more cumbersome and overcomplicated - but at least they save the settings I choose.

Nice Tribute from that Potter lad ...
Alan Rickman is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors I will ever work with. He is also, one of the loyalest and most supportive people I've ever met in the film industry. He was so encouraging of me both on set and in the years post-Potter. I'm pretty sure he came and saw everything I ever did on stage both in London and New York. He didn't have to do that. I know other people who've been friends with him for much much longer than I have and they all say "if you call Alan, it doesn't matter where in the world he is or how busy he is with what he's doing, he'll get back to you within a day".

People create perceptions of actors based on the parts they played so it might surprise some people to learn that contrary to some of the sterner(or downright scary) characters he played, Alan was extremely kind, generous, self-deprecating and funny. And certain things obviously became even funnier when delivered in his unmistakable double-bass.

As an actor he was one of the first of the adults on Potter to treat me like a peer rather than a child. Working with him at such a formative age was incredibly important and I will carry the lessons he taught me for the rest of my life and career. Film sets and theatre stages are all far poorer for the loss of this great actor and man.

Howsabout you make it work? When I get a notification, it takes me four clicks to get to the post in the thread - facebook takes one.
I can't use pictures, videos; URLs look sad. Heck, I can't even use smileys (even to mark my sarcasm).
If you spent as much on making it work, as you do on  'making it different from Facebook', I'd use it much more often.
Never forget that a large percentage of FB users loathe it, with their interference in everything we do. It just works. G+ just doesn't.

Every time I visit Google Keep, I have to manually request 'list order'.

I don't want grid view; I never wanted grid view, and yet Keep always reverts to that.

It would take about 3 lines of code for Google to allow me to choose, and keep to remember my preference.

Is that so much to ask? Google seems very unwilling to allow us to choose defaults (I've been asking to be able to set 'date order' in Google news for 10 years).
