What is the best thing about the innovation?
This school was profiled in a book about "personalizing the high school experience" by Joseph Dimartino and John Clark. I'm delighted to see the procedure of "blogging to capture student work" in this list of Hundred. The students at my school who blog tend to have a sense of "where they are" in their learning journey. Blogging works well. https://www.amazon.com/Personalizing-High-School-Experience-Student/dp/1416606475 That is right. Go to HUNDR.ed and see more.

here is my review

Can we use a word that teenagers use? Competency? Proficiency? Hmmm how about "we get tickets for learning what we want to learn"?

This article ought to be given when kids enter middle school... and why not include some of these skills as part of the school curriculum? I like especially the part that MORALS are learned through PRACTICE. Kids need to be confronted with choices, and guided to make the right ones. Why not make this list part of the LIST OF SKILLS that students use to show that they have mastered skills at school?
