Just wrote up notes for an amazing book from the 60s I stumbled on a couple weeks ago: "Beyond Success and Failure: Ways to Self-Reliance and Maturity" Lots of concepts I hadn't seen in more recent books. Definitely worth a read: http://taminglife.com/beyond-success-failure-ways-self-reliance-maturity/

In the event anyone is looking for a good Coming Soon page to advertise their website, I recently updated a plugin I've been working on - Coming Soon Page Elite.

It's a WordPress plugin you put up while you're working on your site.  It collects emails, shoots them over to MailChimp, has a bunch of different backgrounds and has some nifty features like access control.

If you're interested, let me know and I'll send you a coupon.

Beware the comfort zone. Trying to live without taking risks is a guaranteed way of living in an every shrinking box. Picture courtesy of "Feel the Fear But Do It Anyway"

I just released a new plugin for WordPress: Easy Pie Coming Soon.  It's something you would enable when you are working on a new site or are just taking your site down for maintenance.  It's really configurable and captures emails of visitors, allowing you to later export them to a system like MailChimp or AWeber. Check it out and let me know what you think :) #wordpress #easypie

I've heard a lot of good things about them, however 300 bucks can either be considered cheap or expensive depending on where you are with your business. For me personally I went the graphicriver.net route - purchased a nice graphic for 20 or 30 bucks, did a bit of doctoring and then went with that.  However, in the future if and when I have a thriving business, I can see myself being willing to spend the $300 to get a nice professional logo.

I love it - Google is essentially pushing their own version of platform agnostic apps - HTML/Javascript running outside of a browser with the ability to interact with native hardware. The ability to create a single app that runs on Mac, Windows, OS-X and Android...drool..
