I rely on my computers for almost everything. Our Windows media PC records TV, all our movies are on a server which are then played through our Windows media PC and almost all the games I play are Windows-only. With Windows 7 I never once had any issues doing these tasks. In the past year I have had to reinstall Windows 8 on my media PC FIVE TIMES...Yes, FIVE TIMES in one year. On my gaming PC...SEVEN TIMES! WTF? Why, you ask? Well, I can't explain it...Neither can almighty Google. I have just had really odd issues that keep coming up and after wasting hours trying to solve them I just end up reinstalling my OS.
I really hope Steam does it right with SteamOS because I'm so over Windows. With my media PC I will eventually to try to switch to XBMC which I've heard has made huge improvements in the past year. In the meantime I'm going back to Windows 7 with all my PCs...Not going to miss Windows 8 aka "Vista 2.0"...</rant>
