Nuance
There are writers whose style is all about being in-your-face,
bluntness, shock-and-awe, heavy on the action and sparse in the food-for-thought
category. I’ve read them, I like them, I admire what they can do. Then there are other writers who are more about...

Deja Vu Blogfest - 2016
Since 2011 I’ve used a rather unique Blogfest to catch up with
my blog reading after being distracted for various reasons (e.g. WRiTE CLUB, A-Z Challenge, NaNo, etc) .
I’m a hardy believer that if something works…stick with it…so here we go again. One of my...

Vampires
Of the twelve months that make up the year, October is
one of my favorites. Why? For one, here in Arkansas that’s when Fall weather
really sets in, and I love cooler temperatures. The other reason…Halloween and the
31 days of non-stop horror movies. My daug...

They are just an inanimate objects.   A conglomeration of rubber, pistons, crank

all expertly pieced together to form the perfect form of mobility.   But to each of us it’s so much...

Cognitive Estrangement
This mouthful is used to explain what happens
when someone experiences a scene or idea that is different from his/her own reality,
but similar enough that they can see it being plausible. In other words…the suspension of disbelief.   Now that is a phrase ev...

Can a man of few words...write a successful novel?
Introduction
Continually trying to answer the question...can a man of few words write a successful novel?

I'm a Mystery/Thriller/Suspense writer from small town USA who struggles everyday to balance my passion for prose against the need to be a full-time bread winner. Finding ways to devote more time to my writing is the challenge, but for now all I can do is follow this tug at my heart to wherever it leads. I'm here primarily to soak up all the knowledge I can from the writing-centric blogosphere, but I'll do my best to contribute by thinking of new and innovative ways to churn the writing pot.
