Hardened - Revisited
This was originally
posted in January of 2012, but it is a natural follow up to Monday’s EasyBeauty topic. It has been edited with that in mind. Anybody remember Jan-Michael Vincent?   He is an actor known mostly for a string of
minor movie roles, but he wa...

Sunshine Award - Question Answers
How is this for timing? On Monday I lamented about how this blog has become rather stale and re-committed myself to revitalizing it (the post was pre-written and scheduled) -- and Sunday night I was tagged with the Sunshine Blogger Award. The Sunshine Blogg...

The Pull
Today I’ve decided to try and tackle a topic that I
know will be difficult to describe, but it’s something that I believe all
writers feel at some point and therefore no matter how bad of a job I do
explaining it, you’ll still know what I’m talking about. L...

Stream of Consciousness
Although I’m not on a rigid posting schedule (who
needs that kind of pressure?), I do try to post at least once a week. Lately I’ve
been struggling with topic ideas, so today I’m experimenting with a new
concept.   It’s called Stream of Consciousness . Ever...

Easy Beauty - Revisted
This was originally
posted in March 2010. We all read a lot of blogs.   I mean A LOT.   The content is so
diverse, ranging from instructional, insightful, inspirational, comedic, and everything
in between.   It’s rare when I don’t take something
from what I...

The Blog Reclamation Project
Reclamation - the act of returning something to a former, better state. I started this blog in 2009, basically on a whim. At the time I was writing a book where the main character was a semi-successful blogger, so I decided to create one for myself. I wante...

DL's Writers Retreat
It's a hard fact for us aspiring writers -- those of us with full-time jobs -- that time is a rare commodity and finding enough of it to ply our craft is easier said than done. Before I get lambasted by stay-at-home mom's or dad's, I realize that finding ti...

Book Review - UNITY

#DFWCON 2016
The first DFW conference I attended was back in 2012. That was the year I adopted t he motto “making it uncomfortable in my comfort zone” , and what a better way
than to drag my introverted ass to one of the major writer’s events in the
country.   I did my ...

Can a man of few words...write a successful novel?
Introduction
Continually trying to answer the question...can a man of few words write a successful novel?

I'm a Mystery/Thriller/Suspense writer from small town USA who struggles everyday to balance my passion for prose against the need to be a full-time bread winner. Finding ways to devote more time to my writing is the challenge, but for now all I can do is follow this tug at my heart to wherever it leads. I'm here primarily to soak up all the knowledge I can from the writing-centric blogosphere, but I'll do my best to contribute by thinking of new and innovative ways to churn the writing pot.
