Had my mandatory shop tour n safety briefing at the glass working facility in our workshop today. Got a lesson in bead making with a steel mandrel. The lumpy beads are the best, that way you know they are handmade! Yeah! .... well, the more I practice, the better. Beads are annealing in kiln, this is 104CF soft glass and would Crack in open air if we let the bead cool enough to show the colors. To my happy surprise, pulling stringers is MUCH easier with soft glass than borosilicate. See the nice long blue stringers I pulled over on the right. Woo hoo!

Just ordered a searchable archive of Mother Earth News 1970 - 2016 on USB for $25. That will keep me entertained for quite a while. We used to pore over each issue on our little homestead in the 1970's. That and "Countryside & Small Stock" magazine were our internet where we learned how to take care of animals and the garden!

Last week we finally used the dinosaur cookie cutters, at least some of them-- there are still some prehistoric mammals and a couple of dinos that we didn't try.

Spent a rainy afternoon at home puttering and cleaning up some technical debt-- untangling a rats nest of cabling in the router corner with Mike (who put in some loom, yay), installing a new Linksys high speed wireless router, reinstalling Raspbian on my Pi 2 (some "I won't boot" glitch had developed), reinstalling apache, perl, and AtisWiki on the Pi so my house wiki would be up again. Very satisfied with the day's progress.
