The images included in this post depict my mountain bike trail map that I've resumed work on, a photo from a recent cycling adventure, and a Victorian illustration that I digitized that I'm considering using to decorate my apartment with.

Yesterday I rode my bike to De Tour Village and back, 219.4 km in total. It was an enjoyable day. I saw plenty of wild turkeys and sandhill cranes. I also came across a couple of deer. During the ride somebody's dog ran after my bike and grabbed one of my bicycle's panniers with its mouth. I could tell that I was dragging him down the road for a couple of seconds. This was the first time a dog has successfully caught me while on my bike.

I had a great time yesterday cycling to Whitefish Point and back. The route I took was through Brimley, up through Paradise, then back down Highway 123 to 28 and then back to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. In total I cycled 260.6 km, my second longest ride ever.

During the journey I saw many sandhill cranes, a few turkey vultures, a ruffed grouse, and at least 6 whitetail deer.

It was my first very long ride on proper road tires and I feel as though they made a big difference. Despite the distance, I averaged 23.7 km/h. This average was brought down a little bit because I stopped at the Whitefish Point Lighthouse and rode around on the boardwalks, but still, I have never averaged such a high speed on a 200 km+ long ride.
