A beautiful smile needs to be protected and a night guard can do a wonderful job for years. Here is a repair of one that has lasted 14 years.

Lithium Disilicate (emax) can be adhesively attached to a tooth . The bond is amazing and the tooth may break if it needs to be replaced. It is difficult to get a great bond subgingivally (below the gum). This will be the last chance for this tooth. Bonded zirconium may work as well, and no shoulder preparation would be needed. In my experience , the emac is a stronger bond. It is necessary to have a 2mm ferule on the buccal (gum side 0 and the lingual (tongue side0. or the crown will not hold.

Extraction or save the tooth.
Extraction can lead to removable partial, implant , fixed bridge or tooth movement if nothing is done. Discuss with your dentist what is right for your situation.
