#Acupuncture supports us as the cold weather approaches, when our bodies are more susceptible to bacteria and viruses. It increases the T-cell count in the body, which keeps the body fighting off colds and flues. Acupuncture can become a friendly ally in the battle of sickness and bothersome illnesses. #BalancedBeingAcupuncture #HistoryOfAcupuncture

In the expanding universe of holistic therapies, #acupuncture is a key player, even as scientists and scientific institutions mostly struggle to develop quality testing methodologies for its effectiveness. Perhaps the best question we have so far is, “Does it make you feel better?” #BalancedBeingAcupuncture

#Acupuncture has grown in credibility in the USA from obscurity in the early 1970s through an NIH consensus conference in 1998 that reported that there was positive evidence for its effectiveness. Increasingly acupuncture is being looked to as a powerful means of addressing America’s present opioid crisis. #BalancedBeingAcupuncture #HistoryofAcupuncture

There are countless acupoints on the body, most of which have a specific functional or energetic activity. Some can be found at the meeting or crossing of channels and vessels in the body. Others are located at junctions with an internal pathway of the meridian. These types of points are particularly useful in directing the flow of blood or energy to specific locations in the body. #BalancedBeingAcupuncture #HistoryofAcupuncture

Qi travels the body along twelve principal channels. Qi flows constantly up and down these pathways, and when the flow of qi is insufficient, unbalanced, or interrupted, yin and yang become unbalanced, and illness may occur. #BalancedBeingAcupuncture #HistoryofAcupuncture

When proper balance of forces exists, the body has achieved a healthy circulation of the life force qi (roughly pronounced "chee"). The human body, as well as every other living thing, has a natural flow of qi throughout it. #BalancedBeingAcupuncture #HistoryofAcupuncture

One of the most important concepts of Chinese medicine is that of natural balance. From this idea of balance arises the fundamental theory of yin and yang. The well-known “Taijitu” symbol of the yin and yang further demonstrates that nothing is pure yin or pure yang. Black (representing yin) and white (representing yang) constantly transform from one to the other. Meanwhile, each side containing a small seed of its opposite. Vibrant health manifests when all that is yin and all that is yang within the body are balanced and harmonious. #BalancedBeingAcupuncture #HistoryofAcupuncture
