I don't like this.  Freedom is slowly chipped away, kids are viewed as wards of the state and parents are just financial contributors to the deal.  Yes, I know that's an exaggeration, but reality is somewhat close to it..

My child suffered a life-threatening reaction to a vaccine.  The doctor thinks it was just an unexplained thing, therefore "vaccines are safe" and at this point I don't know where this would leave us with a medical exemption since the reaction isn't tied to the vaccine.

I believe in vaccines, but parents should be educated, not forced.  Also, if you believe your child has just gone through some sickness and his/her immune system is weak, you should have the freedom to delay the vaccine until you feel the child's immune system is ready.
