What ghosts may walk these silent streets at night?
Dig France participants love visiting here in this medieval village which one of the most renown and visited in all of France. Starting back in the 9th century with a Benedictine Abby, it grew strong very fast becoming a major market of commerce in the region. Even though it would be heavily fortified and walled, it suffered greatly during the religious wars. Today, Sarlat is classified as a “Town of Art & History” and as a “Plus Beaux Detour,” having the highest density of Historic and Classified Monuments of any town in France.
Dig France offers the opportunity to be a part of helping to save world history while also enjoying a magical archaeo-dig vacation full of fun, adventure, and discovery.
