Went to the Labor Day rally on the green today with Bernie (obscured by shrubbery in my photo). He gave a great speech, pointing out that the social security program doesn't contribute to the national budgetary deficit (or at least didn't until this year's payroll tax cut) and touching on Vermont leading the way in healthcare reform with the single payer plan scheduled to go into effect in 2017.

These are from another hike I did with my dad around the start of August. Skyline Pond is a great trail that takes you right up the side of the ridge beyond Bread Loaf and intersects the Long Trail at the top of the mountain. Took about three hours up and back and does not great things to the knees, but the view at the top is quite nice. This year the water level was lower, so I was able to get down closer to the pond.

These are from a short hike to Silver Lake I did with my dad when he visited back near the beginning of August. It was actually a lot brighter (and hotter) that day than these pictures let on because I was sitting in the shade to cool off after the hike up to the lake. There were also a lot of people there, which I carefully left out of my photos. In the first shot you can see a bunch of ducks in the water on the right.

Was a nice day yesterday, so I walked out on the TAM behind Sheep Farm Road out to Morgan Horse Farm Road and then back into town. Passed by the renovations on the Pulp Mill Bridge, which I've heard will be ongoing until November, though it looks like you can still walk over it. Had a cookout dinner with the neighbors, at their insistence, when I got back.
