Last Thursday evening's Main Line Dental Study Club was led by World renowned Boston Prosthodontist, Dr. Ken Malament.  Wow!  What a wealth of information and magnificent patient treatment images.  We were fortunate to have most of the Penn Perio Pros residents in attendance thanks to Dr. Howard Fraiman and Dr. Harold Baumgarten.

A most valuable service for you??
I firmly believe that our professional dental hygiene maintenance re-care appointment is a most important one. Here's what we do:

1.Check/Update your health history
2. A head and neck cancer screening\
3. An oral cancer screening
4. Bleeding upon (gentle) probing score
5. Probing/measuring gum pocket and recession
6. Visual check for tooth decay, gum infection, oral skin infections and lesions.
7. Digital x ray images of teeth and supporting structures at recommended intervals.
8. Intra-oral camera images of problems and unusual findings.
9. Precise ultrasonic, hand scaling and smoothing of teeth and their roots using magnified optics.
10. Thorough polishing and/or jetting of all surfaces, including dental implants
11. Localized placement of topical antiseptics in any areas of bleeding or soreness.
12. Review, coaching and products for your daily personal biofilm control.
13. Doctor exam and verification of Dental Hygienists findings.

Why are these phases important? Let us detail each one, starting next post.

WE'RE EXPECTING!!

The RAYSCAN 3D will be arriving in our office next week! Its coming from Samsung loaded with the latest in digital ray technology for bite wings, mouth survey images, 3D diagnostics for pathology identification and dental... implant placements, and Cephalometrics to support our soon-to-be Orthodontic practice with Dr. Bryan F. Foley (more on that later). And all of this with the most sophisticated, low radiation sensor there is.

No more "gagging" on the sensor for the 18 full mouth series you really need to have at least every 5 years-RAYSCAN can do it with one sweep and nothing inside your mouth. And less radiation than you get flying to Los Angeles. Who doesn't love less radiation?!? See More
