Interesting that nothing bad is said about the acquisition. The new fifth gen machines discard every positive experience from the 2x series - it is like a clean slate, technology wise.

And it's pretty bad, currently.

Really slow, extremely buggy and very hostile to maintain.

In fact - I have yet to make a larger print that completes and works. And I have tried for 3 weeks.

Compared to my 2x: with more than a years experience in using it, I can get it to make everything and anything. I rarely see a failed print and I have thousands of hours of printing on it.

The fifth gen is not a machine that you can get better at using. It is black boxed, closed off and not even the Z height can be adjusted.

Good luck Bre Pettis. May you return to the makerbot way.
