My home is for sale. Please pass this along to anyone you know who is looking for a huge home for a reasonable price in a fantastic school district.

These people are thieves. Painted Rubbish has not paid me what little they have claimed to have sold at my estate sale and they stole the remaining items. The company not only cost me thousands of dollars in sales, they also refuse to pay me the money due from my estate sale, which occurred May 2-4, 2014. In effect, they have stolen from me. I was downsizing from a large (3300+ sq ft) home, to a small condo. I was selling 80% of my furniture and belongings. I contacted Gina, the owner of Painted Rubbish, several months prior to my sale. She never bothered coming to my home or even driving by to see how large my home was. Once she came in about a week before the sale, it was obvious the home and scope of the sale was more than she and her employees could handle. However, she never said that she could not handle the sale, and by the time I realized this, it was too late to find anyone else. Painted Rubbish only advertises their sales in 1 location, a website for estate sales. That means that the average person, who does not know about this website, does not know that there is an estate sale happening. On the first day of the sale, parkway signs were put up in the area to alert drivers of the estate sale. Instead of bringing the signs in after the first day of the three day sale, they were left up. Gina then claimed they were stolen and shrugged her shoulders. Apparently, they were the only signs she had because she never put any more up for the next 2 days of the sale. The contact I signed said that any items that did not sell would be taken by Gina to Goodwill for donation. The contract also said that I was to be paid my portion from the sale no later than 14 days after the sale. When I came to my home after the estate sale was over and Gina's crew had left, I found that she had left hundreds of dollars of merchandise that should have been donated, in the home. She left items such as expensive kitchen appliances, and items that were unused and still in their boxes. Clearly, she did not rent a vehicle large enough to fit all the items she was incapable of selling. This estate sale should have netted at least $8,000 if it were advertised properly and staffed correctly. Because of the company's incompetence, the sales were only $2300, of which my portion after Gina's percentage and fees were $652.05. I have reached out to Gina constantly since the beginning of June for my portion of the proceeds and the donation receipt. Each time I contacted her, she assured me that the check went out in the mail "that day". After a few days when I contact her again telling her I haven't received it, she blames her staff and says again that it has gone out "That day". We have been playing this game for over 2 months now. I gave her a week's notice telling her I was going to report her to the BBB if I don't receive my payment and receipt. She assured me she would handle it herself. I am writing this on August 4, 2014 and still have not received the payment and donation receipt from the sale that ended on May 4, 2014. Adding to the frustration is the inability of Gina to accept any responsibility at all for the ineptness of her business or failure to pay me what I am owed plus the cost of the items they took.
