Top notch food at a beer bar? Yeah! Looks are deceiving in this Little Five Points bar. The chefs mean business. Shrimp and grits: Delicious! I've been here a few times and have tried a few things and they're all good. The only thing I'd be apprehensive about eating again is the salt and vinegar popcorn. My friends and I could hardly eat it without choking on the fumes of the vinegar. It was addictive though, we all knew we would start coughing from the popcorn, but we just continued to eat it anyways. You'll see what I mean if you order it. I'm not a beer connoisseur, but the selection here is quite large. It's always packed so be prepared to be fairly close to folks if you're standing near the bar. Parking around the area can be difficult, but my favorite place to park in Little 5 is on Austin Avenue. Further away but saves you from the headache of that horrendous parking lot behind the bar.

Love the food and beer selection. Menu suggests a beer pairing for each item. Wonderful tap list and a solid bottle list for backup. Usually very crowded on weekends, but early weekday evenings are great!

I recently and finally checked PBB off of my "to try" list. Three times over. What is making me leave this review now is the meal I had recently for brunch. Actually, one item in particular. Them damn collard greens. Loaded with pickled peppers (why didn't I think of that?) and parmesan. They were served in a dish that had quite a bit of the liquid (pot likker) in it but that dish was dry as a bone once I was done. Served with three scrambled eggs, a biscuit and potatoes resole. It was a brunch fit for Queens. Simple and fulfilling. This was a "special" brunch item so I am laying my food heart on the line now: THE PORTER BEER BAR - please keep this as a regular brunch item. I'd be there weekly. Outside of that, I see why everyone loves this place. The food is good and creative. The beer menu is plentiful and the service is awesome. I also enjoy their version of hush puppies and the shrimp and grits. It was a tad salty but still good. The one time my bf has been, he had the fish and chips and wasn't pleased. All was a bit too greasy (it was) and it turned him off to PBB. I'm still trying to coax him to giving them another try. In the meantime, you should go.

Eclectic staff with an endless selection of beer. Flipping through the beer menu is like reading an encyclopedia. There isn't much space but the food makes up for it. Great place to go to have a few laughs or just escape from reality for a little.

I wanted to celebrate my Birthday with 16 of my friends. At first I was worried that they wouldn't be able to accommodate that many people. The host told me "No worries." They went ahead and sat us down with half our group there. The service was great, the beer selection was awesome, and everyone loved their food. What a great experience. Thank you for a fabulous Birthday guys!

The food was amazing and Justin behind the bar was very knowledgeable about all the beers they had available. We just bellied up to the bar which allowed us to get to know some locals who pointed us in the direction of some other great Atlanta locations! The Porter Beer Bar is a must anytime you are in Atlanta.

With high-class beers and a price tag to match, I stop in this spot whenever I have a few bucks to spare and a reason to celebrate. The brews are varied, vast and voluminous. I love to just browse their menu like intellectual reading material and, you know? You really can learn something reading through the descriptions of hundreds of obscure, regional and seasonal beers they put at your fingertips. The staff is amazing, the food is top notch and even the fries are a little something special. Don't forget your wallet, though. You'll need it.

Love this bar. Great beer selection, great prices, burger was great, and they give you a giant jar of water... without even having to ask for it!
