In case you believe what you were taught in school, that the US is a democracy, this study confirms the more correct intuition: the US is now effectively a corporate oligarchy.

As a climber and sometime artist (I love to draw), I've loved what I've seen of artist & climber Jeremy Collins' work over the years. Now he has an awesome new Kickstarter project - please like and share, and support his talent!

Every business needs to manage their expenses, I get that - but when clients ask me what SEO services cost, I have to say: "It depends!" Great post on the real costs of SEO services by Josh Steimle in Forbes.

Affordable Web site design is a common problem for small business owners I've talked to. One solution I like to recommend is going with a WordPress Web site (my blog post explains briefly why I think it's the best current Web site software), then choosing a packaged WordPress theme (about US$50) from a site like themeforest.net, and getting a Web designer from odesk.com to customize the theme for your desired look-and-feel (for example, many 5-star Indian Web designers will do this for about US$300).

An e-commerce client of mine was recently updating their online storefront, this KISSmetric infographic is an excellent walkthrough of all the touchpoints in an e-commerce experience. Always new and changing strategies to explore - Stella Service is new to me.

Google and Yelp reviews are incredibly important for local businesses, like it or not. However, clients I've worked with haven't always had the most positive things to say about how Yelp operates. This post summarizes a lot of recent issues and Yelp's response. Do you know anyone who has allegedly been asked by Yelp to pay for the removal of negative reviews, or claims Yelp hinted buying advertising would help ensure filtering of negative reviews?

Great article about Facebook ad changes - my experience has been that click-through rates on my FB ads have tripled with ads in the news feed. Are you using FB ads? With the new tracking pixel, even small businesses can now track their conversions, unlike the recent past where only FB marketers with a monthly spend of more than $1K had access to these tools.
