Given the recent concerns over Mrs. Clinton's health, I wish that Cain was more able.

If no Republican candidate manages to reach 1237 delegates, I would like to see a national vote on the same day of the top 2 candidates heads up. Let the American people choose our nominee.

As far as I know, they came up with that rule at the 2012 convention. Before that it was a 5 state minimum. Not certain whether it was before Romney was nominated or after.

Since when did promote and "provide for" become synonymous? Furthermore  "the Preamble serves solely as an introduction, and does not assign powers to the federal government, nor does it provide specific limitations on government action. Due to the Preamble's limited nature, no court has ever used it as a decisive factor in case adjudication"

My neighbor seems to think that socialized medicine is in the Constitution, based on a deliberate misinterpretation of a passage in the preamble (written at a time when there wasn't even an income tax, never mind FICA, to pay for such a thing.)

Additionally, our imperial leader has ordained that "generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. [It] says what the states can’t do to you. [It] says what the federal government can’t do to you, but [it] doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf."

The US currently burns 1.121 billion tons of coal per year producing electricity. Coal which is mined right here in the USA. This could be converted to oil at a rate of 1.5 tons per barrel, giving us about 4.6 million barrels per day. Which is about 23% of what we currently use and about 60% of what we're currently importing at a hundred bucks per barrel.
The electricity production could be replaced with a mixture of nuclear, natural gas, wind, solar, hydroelectric etc. Just a thought.

It wouldn't let me unfortunately. I said as much in my very first post a minute later, where I included the link I just referenced. Anyhow South Africa has been doing this for decades and there are 2 plants currently being built in the US. As the world's 2nd largest producer of coal and with the world's largest coal reserves, it only makes sense. Combined with the 1.5 to 2.6 trillion barrels of oil shale reserves in this country and our current fracking capabilities, it is rather silly to still be importing oil from the Middle East.
