Visited this restaurant during restaurant week in Savannah. Ordered the seared salmon and it was served over a couscous type mixture with wild mushrooms and other tasty ingredients. The desert was a wonderful bread pudding...delicious! The restaurant has a very warm feel with themed rooms and candles with fireplaces everywhere. The basement was turned into a piano bar and a wine cellar. You really have to explore the entire restaurant top to bottom to appreciate the work that went into renovating this lovely old home.

Had the "blt" salad and shrimp rolls. Both were excellent and I would definitely recommend. Service was outstanding. Great atmosphere.

Totally bamboozled by these reviews. We made a 8.15 pm reservation and arrived 5 min early. They were so crowded we had to squeeze in to a hallway to wait another 20 min for our table. When we were found again and led to our table, there was a vacant 2-top by the window and two vacant round 4-seater tables available in the room we were in, and they sat us at one of the round tables for 4... a little weird, but ok, we sat next to each other and tried to stay out of the way. The filet mignon dish was well cooked but the shrimp and scallop fettuccine I ordered came out with 2 scallops and 4 little shrimp on a bed of fettuccine with the most tasteless and watery sauce I've ever gotten in a restaurant. Salt and pepper helped, only to find out that the shrimp were not deveined and the scallops were sandy-- what the heck. Wine was just ok and cocktails were on the sweeter side. Server was hard to understand, people bumped in and out of the room constantly (even a pair with a candlestick on some kind of tour), and between server and manager checking on us we didn't get more than 5 minutes uninterrupted at our table (and I didn't actually mention the seafood issues). We were relieved to pay the check so we could go, then server proceeded to offer us an unprompted lunch recommendation (for a burger place) despite us telling him we were leaving town the next morning. I'm not sure what is going on here, but it was not the experience they seem to think they're offering and I would never recommend any one waste their effort here. Too bad the waiter didn't recommend the burger joint before we sat down!

Loved the atmosphere and the food was exquisite. I visited this location because it was featured on the Food Network. Unfortunately for me, they had run out the beignets by 2:00 pm on New Year's Eve, which was very disappointing because I had heard that they where the best. I would recommend this place to everyone.

My husband and I went for our 2 year anniversary dinner. We made reservations and were seated within about 10 minutes of the reservation. We sat upstairs in the attic space which, except for a set of dimly lit track lighting, each table was lit by a single tall white candle. My first true candlelight dinner! Once seated and our order placed, we were served a bread basket that consisted of buttermilk biscuits, cornbread, and a dinner roll. The cornbread was heavenly! We had the grits cakes for our appetizer which came out perfect and tasty! I'm quite picky about my grits. For our entrees, I ordered the tilapia with grits and a side of greens and my husband ordered the Blue Crab stuffed Grouper with mashed potatoes and greens. My husband was 100% satisfied with his meal. My meal must have been waiting on a warmer while my husbands was still cooking because mine came out a bit cool. Even with the temperature of my food it still tasted amazing! The grits were creamy and the fish was fishy and juicy! Altogether a great restaurant. No ghost sightings during our meal or as we toured the house. Definitely recommend!!

TOTALLY HAUNTED. My parents and I sat down to dinner in the main dining room to the right of the fireplace. We had been told that the place was haunted by a man in uniform but we had no knowledge of any stories before we went to have dinner. We all ordered the crab cake appetizer at the time and as we waited my father kept complaining that the service was taking so long. My mother and I told him to stop and try and have a good time but he just kept bitching. When the waiter arrived with all 3 plates, he served me, served my mom, and with only 1 plate in his hand, he went to serve my father and the crab cake FLEW off the plate! The waiter apologized and went back to reorder and my dad was furious. Then later on, I went to use the ladies room. As I tried to exit, the door just would not open! I tried over and over again but it was completely jammed shut! So much so that I kept knocking on it to see if someone would open it for me on the other side. Funny thing is there is absolutely no lock on the door at all! After the whole dinner I went online and read some stories about the place being haunted. They said that the ghost tends to play pranks on men who dine with beautiful women (hence the crab cake)! Also, there were sooooo many stories of women getting locked in the bathroom even after they fixed the door countless times! Spooky place!

We were sat at the chef's table in the basement which is set in an old converted bank vault, now the restaurant's candle-lit wine cellar. Food was unfathomably spectacular. 5 star service from Elise. I can't imagine ever finding another dining experience quite like it.

This place was beyond phenomenal. Just way too good, the salmon and flounder were some of the best I've ever had. Worth every penny. One of the best meals I have ever had
