The History of Modern Pain Relief
A great +TED Talk that you should watch today!
#tedtalks   #remaincurious   #keeplearning
For the longest time, doctors basically ignored the most basic and frustrating part of being sick — pain. In this lyrical, informative talk, Latif Nasser tells the extraordinary story of wrestler and doctor John J. Bonica, who persuaded the medical profession to take pain seriously — and transformed the lives of millions.

Black Rat snake - I had the awesome experience of watching a rat snake in our yard climb a tree in our yard. I have seen snakes climb trees on nature programs on TV, but this was the first time I had in person seen one do so in its natural environment. #savethesnakes #snake #blackratsnake +Michelle Mariea I thought you'd get a kick out of this 😀

So luck to have +KaShauna Brooks in my life! I already made a post over on FB under a AMBW page, but wanted  to post a remark here as well. If I could some up how honored I am.... Where do I begin?

Since meeting her in April of 2014 and recognizing we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, we have seen good times and tough times. I have been blessed by her love and generosity. She is beautiful inside and out and I look forward to being her husband next month and into forever! She is a strong independent woman but knows how to ask for help when she needs it. She is an awesome woman and I am so very blessed!

+Hermine Ngnomire It's hard to believe that it's been just over a year since we met. I'm so so so very lucky! I hope all is well with you and your daughter. I saw her prom pics. Very elegant indeed!

Joey - All By Himself
While out for a couple of hours we tested a doggy gate to see how well our Boston Terrier, Joey, did behind the gate instead of being in his doggy crate. This is what ensued....

2013 North Carolina State Fair
All photos were taken and edited by Domingo Rogers. Feel free to share, just please credit responsibly. A big thanks to my friend +mark hanna for allowing me to borrow his Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 to capture these photos

I went to the NC State Fair this year for the express purpose to practice taking photos in low light without the aide of an added flash. Of the over 200 photos I took, mostly ones where I was trying to get my light settings correct, these are the ones I feel are worthy to share.

Enjoy and please let me know your thoughts!

Introduction

Opinions expressed are mine and not those of anyone else.

From http://www.domingorogers.com/about/

Domingo Rogers, known to his friends and family as either Mingo or Dom, is consistently knowledgeable, consultative, credible, and an individual that tackles all tasks with dedication and persistence.

In March of 2006,  when the economy began to slip in Michigan, Domingo moved his wife and five kids to North Carolina where he had recently landed a ground-breaking position as Training Advisor in a North East territory at Global Knowledge, Inc (a leader in Information Technology, Business Process and Project Management training).  For two years he worked as an IT Training Advisor assisting individuals and companies within portions of New York in the process of scheduling knowledge training or certification preparation courses. Here he made a strong emphasis on bettering his negotiation skills with upper level management customers (CEO’s, CIO’s, and VP’s).  He also dealt with middle management customer contacts in helping them maximize their available training budgets by utilizing savings programs and limited promotions. Through building strong relationships with his customers and leveraging economy of scale Domingo was able to ramp up his sales territory and gain a firm foundation within Global Knowledge’s corporate structure.

After establishing himself as a key Training Advisor for public enrollment at Global Knowledge, Domingo was promoted to join the Enterprise Sales team.  Here he focused on working with department managers and project leaders to deliver tailored and customized training for groups at customer locations.  With a year of working with this division of Global Knowledge, Domingo moved into a role in the Mid-Atlantic region where he achieved a one-hundred+ percentage of quota by the end of September 2010!  With these achievements and that of continuing his personal and corporate growth, he turned his focus to and landed the position of ARRA Program Analyst.

As a ARRA Program Analyst, Domingo closed out 2010 with the focus of helping other teams, throughout Global Knowledge, to aggressively hunt and land opportunities that had been previously overlooked and under pursued.   Many governmental programs, particularly in the area of healthcare were a focus leading into 2011.

From 2012 and into 2014 Domingo worked with multiple teams and departments within Global Knowledge to assist individuals that had lost their jobs or were looking to utilize grants to pay for training. Under Domingo's leadership the number of individuals that Global Knowledge was able to train through Workforce Investment Act funding and VA Vocational Rehabilitation funding grew by 63.9%

It was also during this time that Domingo separated and divorced his wife. He helped her move back to Michigan to be closer to her family, understanding that she needed the support of her family nearby. The distance of being away from the kids is difficult, but staying in contact with the kids through social medial and by telephone makes it a little easier.

Most recently Domingo has turned his passion for helping people achieve their wellness and financial goals as a Nutritional Cleansing & Wellness Coach with Isagenix(www.DomingoRogers.com/isagenix). He is enjoying helping to transform lives of those around him and inspire others to realize their dreams!

I had the chance to train with Rich Wells, the owner of TriggerAction, in the Spring of 2015. Rich did a fantastic job explaining the different aspects of the Conceal Carry laws and the responsibilities that we as citizens that will have the permit are under. He was very serious about safety but was able to weave humor through his class to keep his students relaxed. I highly recommend TriggerAction and the instruction that Rich provides. If you are looking to conceal carry, look no further than TriggerAction for your training and instruction!

We weren't prepared with gloves on our recent trip to Asheville, so we stopped in at Mast General Store. Very pleased with the selection and our purchases. The staff we worked with were very friendly and helpful. We were also please to see that they are dog friendly! They asked a dog owner if it was ok to give the dog a treat.

I had the pleasure of working with Merrimon Florist on a recent visit to Asheville, NC. The representative I worked with was great in working with me to suggest an arrangement that suited the location, occasion and budget I was looking to stay within. They delivered the flowers as I requested and were extremely professional. The flower arrangements were beautiful and the flowers are still beautiful 6 days later! I highly recommend that you use Merrimon Florists for all your floral arrangement needs!

We recently had a chance to visit Strada and enjoyed a very nice romantic dinner at the restaurant. It is highly recommended that you make reservations! I had called ahead of time to make arrangements for the dinner and the hostess helped to make the reservation upstairs with a nice place setting that stood out from the rest with a nice table cloth and a flower arrangement that I worked with a local florist to deliver prior to our reservation time. The waiter we had was knowledgeable about all the food and had fantastic drink recommendations. The food was delicious, the service all around was superb and I would highly recommend Strada for its unique Asheville spin on Italian food!

Went here for a late morning coffee and cider. At the time the barista was training a new employee so the service was a little slow but nothing to complain about. The coffee and cider were exactly what we were looking for on the cold November day! We'll definitely visit them again when we are in Asheville!

We had the pleasure of stopping at Doc Chey's Noodle House and loved the service and food the restaurant provided. We really enjoyed the Thai Basil Rolls as an appetizer (we ordered two orders but for two people one order with your main course is probably enough). We also ordered for our entrees the Japanese Miso Soup with tofu and the Chinese Lomein, both were excellent and we highly recommend either one!

The location itself is nice enough, but my constructive criticism is with the theaters inside. The theaters that Smithfield Cinemas has smell musty and from the look and feel are cleaned very well or frequently enough. I'll keep going here because there's no competition to it in Smithfield, but I wish there was.
