I came across one of your YouTube videos yesterday (Jan 29, 2015) on Predestination, a topic that intrigues me no end. I used to be a seminarian in a Catholic monastery (I was born a Catholic), then embraced Islam 14 years ago when I worked in Saudi Arabia, and now taking up bible study lessons with the Jehovah Witness. To date, I find your discussion about the topic clearest among the answered I have gotten so far from priests, imams, and elders.
However, your video still leaves me confused about the subject. I'm putting forth his question not to argue or debate about it but to be honestly clarified and put my ever-searching mind at peace.
My question: If God is all-knowing, wouldn't He know what my "final" choice would be despite all the graces He bestows on me? I believe He has given me the free choice but does He not know what my ultimate choice would be being an ALL-KNOWING God that He is supposed to be? Then if He knows that and yet still created me, wouldn't that be the same as He has predestined me to go to heaven or hell since He is supposed to know what my ultimate choice would be?
Lane, I would appreciate your help. I'm now a 70-year old, semi-disabled man due to stroke. I may not be religious anymore but I'm more of a spiritual, being aware of the limited time left for me here on earth.
I would appreciate if you reply directly to my email: firstname.lastname@example.org
May you have a fruitful and blessed day!
Please help me reconcile in my mind His being ALL-KNOWING and yet does not seem to know my ULTIMATE choice.
