Bail Hotline rocks! Well, they used to anyways. As a returning customer-- 5th time bailing out my buddies who can't seem to stay out of trouble this year-- they were unable to help me post a 60k bond. Over the weeks of my friend rotting away in jail, bail eventually was reduced to 16k. I was always allowed to post bail with little or no down payment up to this point (even 1%!!) Now, they are refusing to work with me unless I hand over a pink slip. They are insane if they think I'm going to have over my $50,000 BMW car title for a $1,600 bailout!!!! Right? Maybe I'm wrong for thinking this is a ridiculously stupid change in policy, nevertheless, they lost my business as well as anyone one who asks me "Dang, John AND Jane Doe got hemmed up again last night...Who do you use to bail people out again????" Sorry Bail Hotline, looks like I'll go back to Aladdin, at least they're kind enough to lube me up before they fist me.

The bond agent promised to get my friend released 10/29/02 by 2AM the following morning after he accepted the cash down payment. He said it could take up to 12 hours from the time he accepted my cash. On 10/30/02 my friend called me collect still in custody. I returned to bail bond office to request a refund. I got no result. The following morning of 10/31/02 I again went to get a refund. The agent that handles refunding of monies then told me I would have to wait for a check to be sent from Riverside which would take a few days. I offered to pick the check up in Riverside. She then said she only had a post office box address. My friend did not get released until after appearing in court on 10/31/02 at 01:52:00. D.A. Refused To Prosecute. It has now been over a month that I have waited for a call to pick up my refund. I have been swindled out of my money by a fraudulent team of crooks. Now I must file a complaint with the State Insurance Commission. Thanx alot Bail Hotline. You are a complete insult to the legal system.
