Dear all the people who think equestrian is not a sport.
We ride a living, breathing, unpredictable animal. We communicate with something that doesn't even speak out language. We communicate through the tiniest of movements in the seat and legs. Performing the most intricate movements, there is little room for error.
We jump solid fences higher than our horses. We put our own lives in the 'hooves'... of our best friends. One tiny error could mean broken bones on us and our horses. Years of training and one mistake means years of recovery and sometimes the horses don't make it.
Before you go and say equestrian is not a sport, think to yourself: "If I had to sit on an unpredictable animal and sit there, would the horse just do it?"
